Splinterlands Share your Battle Weekly Challenge: Magi of Chaos

edited with canva

Good day once again fellow Splinterland lovers and gamers! For this weeks theme card we’re going ‘Neutral’ and the card name is THE MAGI OF CHAOS. I’m not so used to neutral cards and I didn’t have the theme card either so I proceeded to rent it.

Now for a little back story:

THE MAGI OF CHAOS

The Magi of the Chaos are the heralds of the Legion itself. For over hundreds of years they met and studied secretly, gathering and collecting ancient artifacts and scraps of forbidden knowledge, much that was thought lost. As the convergence grew close they plied the void for its treasures and listened furtively to the voices in the dark to prepare and make way for the coming of the Lord of Chaos. Once the way was opened and doom poured from the sky they rose and came out from their hidden places to claim the promise of power from their dark masters.

Stats of the card

This card has no abilities up until levels five and six where it gains the “oppress” ability. In levels one and two it possesses x2 Magic attack which increases to three in levels three to five. In level six it becomes four.
In level one it has five health points but it increases to six in levels two and three which further increases to seven from levels four to six.
The card maintains x2 speed throughout the levels.
This card has no armor!

MY STRATEGY/ LINEUP

Mana Cap Given = 16
Battle Rules = Standard

Since I had just 16 Mana cap I knew I had to be smart and select wisely in order to accommodate the theme card as well. I also decided to go with a splint I was familiar with.

My SplintEnemy’s Splint
WaterFire

Summoner

NameBortus
Mana CostThree
EditionUntamed
SplintWater
RarityRare (Blue)
Buff-1 Magic Attack

I picked Bortus as my summoner because it cost less and it’s buff could help destabilize my enemy’s card (if it has any magic attack).

Monster 1

NameSerpent of Eld
Mana costSeven
EditionUntamed
SplintWater
RarityBlue (Rare)
Speedx 4
Attackx 3 Melee Attack
Armorx 2
HealthFive
AbilityDodge

I had just seven mana cap left after I calculated my summoners and theme cards cost. So instead of getting cards that cost lower I decided to get a strong card that would help me hold down. This card was a great pick, it had good speed, good armor, nice attack and a good ability. It was a perfect choice for a first card.

Monster 2

image is a screenshot

NameMagi of Chaos
Mana costSix
EditionChaos Legion
SplintNeutral
RarityEpic (Purple)
Speedx 2
Attackx 2 Magic attack
HealthFive

With this being the theme card. And having exhausted my mana cap my team was ready. A team that seemed so small and easy to defeat. I still forged ahead with the battle!

Battle Link

Did my Strategy work?

Yes it worked perfectly fine. I didn’t loose any of my cards during the course of the battle.

What will you try differently next time?

Probably a different splint and strategy.

Do you like Magi of Chaos?

No I don’t

Why?

The card isn’t worth the amount of mana cap it costs. Six mana cap for a card with no abilities and little speed? No thank you. To be honest I played multiple times with this card before I eventually won this battle. It was getting killed so easily. So yes i wouldn’t opt for this card if it was left to me.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for sharing! - @lenonmc21

I like your post, and the format is very good even though your images come from a battle done by the mobile, my recommendation is that if you can, reduce a little the size of the very large images to make it look much better.

Yes I use a mobile phone not a laptop and I’ll try my best to reduce the image size
