Can You Make A Living Playing Games Online?

The blockchain offers everyone the ability to play to earn and even make a living gaming online.

I am old enough to remember when there was no video games. I remember pong when I was a kid and thinking it was so awesome but it was the most simple thing ever in gaming. I remember when Atari came out with it's first gaming system and couldn't get enough of playing it. I have seen the full evolution of gaming from the first basic game to what the industry has come to today.

Never in my dreams did I think it would be possible for anyone to make a living playing video games. Streaming sites like Twitch have been around for a while now but it is hard to get a good following and keep people interested and tipping you to make money. Not everyone is cut out for streaming social sites like this, a lot of gamers don't have the personality to stream and get a good income.

Gaming on Hive has changed everything incorporating the ability to earn crypto from playing games on the blockchain. There are several games on Hive, I don't know all the games but the three I play are Splinterlands, Rising Star and dCrops. I am sure there will be many more to come to Hive as this seems to be a trend that people are being drawn to.

Splinterlands is the biggest game on Hive hands down, no other game comes close to matching it and people are already making great money from this game. It has a learning curve to get the game down and be good at but the investment in the game without even playing can still make you a living. The NFT's or cards in the game hold value and can be bought and sold for a profit and they can also be rented out for passive income. Splinterlands is my first recommendation in the play to earn scene for the shear fact that it's the biggest and for now has the most potential for the highest income.

Rising Star is my second choice, it is a much easier game to understand although there is still a bit of a learning curve to get the most out of the game. This game is based on building a band by collecting cards (NFT's) as instruments and band members you use to build your band and play venues. It's a fun game that doesn't require a lot of time but can easily make you a nice income.

My third choice is dCrops, the newest game that I have been playing. This is a pretty simple game that also uses cards (NFT's) to play a farming style game growing crops in four different seasons to harvest and sell for a profit. They are currently sold out of Alpha card packs but the new series of packs to buy should be out pretty soon. The more land plots and seed packs you have the more you can grow and trade for crypto. dCrops is fairly new and still has some features they are working on but it is growing and I can see a nice future for this game.

I have not been in the play to earn scene for long so I am not making a living yet but in time this new way of earning online is going to pay a very nice passive income that really has no limits. Not to mention that as an old time gamer I will be doing things that I like and having fun while I earn. If you are not looking into playing games and learning how to make them pay while you play then you should probably get off the fence and have a look at the games you like on the blockchain and start earning also. Never has there been a more fun way to earn online in my opinion, it sure beats building downlines and trying to make referral commissions.
