EXTRA #3: What is Love? A question of focus

Personally, I don't like to post pack openings because it looks like an easy post to gain a lot of likes, but today I have to post it, not because I found my first Legendary card in a pack: The Queen Mycelia, probably one of the best Chaos Legion expansion legendary cards (until the airdrops), but because the story before the pack opening is incredible and, I swear on my own life, it's true.

Let's start some time before today, I started playing Splinterlands in September, I wanted to play it like a game and not use it to make big money, so I just invested the minimum in SPS to get 1 voucher, I invested in cards to reach Bronze II level power ( personally I don't like to rent assets ) and I played waiting for the second airdrop. After the boosted vouchers drop I could afford 2 other packs, and I've been really lucky and quick to win the @Zaku-SPT quiz gaining one extra voucher that he sent me today.

So we are getting closer to the core of the story, with the voucher that I won I had a total of 1.881 vouchers, so I swapped some tokens in my Hive Engine wallet to reach exactly 2 vouchers arriving at 5 packs bought in pre-order (big chances for the airdrop, I know).

While I was playing to Little Crypto Trader my girlfriend (and that's the reason for the title) was sitting next to me on the couch, tired after a working day, she is not interested in Splinterlands and in my precious cryptos (life is a meme) but as every person in the world loves the surprise, so opening packs entertains her. Since she was sitting near me when I bought the 2 packs, like the gentleman that I am, I asked her if she would like to open them just for fun.

I'll be quick, the first pack was good with a nice Kelya Frendul as a rare card but nothing exceptional, I was satisfied but not happy, it was like when as a little kid opening a pokemon pack you found a stupid holo Machamp, it was a holo, an amazing Pokemon but not as cool as the starters evolutions.
So after this first pack opening, this dialogue happened, I'm reporting it as faithfully as possible:

Me: Sweetie can you please focus on this card that I would really like to find? It's amazing but it costs a little bit, if I could find it in the pack opening I could buy other cards later on in the general sale, it would be very cool.

Her: Sure sigh

Me: Look at this, isn't she awesome? Please I want to find her in order to improve my powerrrrrrrr!

Her: Ehm, ok pretending to concentrate to invoke obscure powers

Me: Ok, let's open the last pack!

Her: It's this one?

The Queen Mycelia was the third card of the pack then I found a Radiated Scorcer and a Gargoya Scrapper

Obviously, after finding it we both went crazy, not for the price per se or for my collection power but because it was simply incredible BUT believe me please, it was real.

So after I told her how impressed (and how very much frightened by her and her powers) I now was, I decided to write a post about the pack opening because I thought it could be a funny story to the few that will have the patience to read it.

Just to remind you: 1,6% to find a legendary (with potion) and 1/16 possibility for it to be the Queen Mycelia (because unfortunately, we can't find Doctor Blight in normal packs)

So that's all, just a little EXTRA to entertain people waiting for the general sale on the 17th of January.
