Help A Friend In Need

avatar

Hello people of hive,
We at Dineros Juegos are humbly knocking on your kind hearts to support our Guildmate @taromilktea100 , whose laptop broke which deeply affected his work and the ability to provide for his daily needs.

Taro is a part-time online coach and also does NFT art, which means having a working laptop is a core necessity to ensure he gets paid for his talent and effort.

Here are some of Taro's awesome work:

Taro's Story

Taro was an active and OG player in our guild and community, he's been around a good while now.

Taro used to go to school for accounting and switched over to Graphic Design to learn skills to work on NFT projects.

He has worked extra hard for a few months, even cutting back on food and transportation to save more money to buy Chaos packs, hoping it could change his financial status.

And then one day, we got this message..

A little sad, months ago he was talking about how he really wanted a nice new Asus Laptop with his crypto earnings and now he's got nothing. 😔

What's worse, his payout from his NFT project is getting pushed back..

and I think it's still not an insane amount for where he lives, $500 or so. Which doesn't go very far when you're shopping for a Laptop to use in your Graphic Design class, plus he still needs to set aside money too, for his food and transportation.

Taro has also invested a lot into splinterlands and it's something he wants to keep playing and investing in long term. Same with his NFTs And his work.

He was already putting up with an old laptop for his work and splinterlands as hopes of saving up for a better laptop.

We understand that we are still in crisis due to this pandemic and the recent war happening in Ukraine, but even your smallest upvotes and tips will greatly help us to aid Taro in this difficult time.

Any amount your heart is willing to give will be a huge help for Taro.

Taro doesn't have access to his hive wallet and that's why the payout is set to go to the community wallet. :)

Hivebits blends Hive's blockchain and Bitcoin's ethos. Your effort = your reward. Mine HBIT simply 1-per-day with (no space): ! hivebits or ! HBIT or ! hbit or $ hbit.
Success! You mined .9 HBIT and the user you replied to received .1 HBIT on your behalf. You can receive 100% of the HBIT by replying to one of your own posts or comments. Or, support Hivebits at the official HBIT mine | your wallet | market | tools | connect | <><

This confirmation reply will go off when Resource Credits (RCs) get low. Yet, your hivebits command will still go through and you'll get your HBIT. :)

I wish him the best. I wonder if his data can be recovered. I don't know how important the research paper is, but sometimes recovery is possible. Also, if he really trusts the shop he took it too, great. Otherwise, get a second opinion.

I am more of a software person, but, about a decade ago, I was restoring an old Dell for an acquaintance. I was not, at the time, aware that there was a recovery partition. I therefore, in formatting the drive, removed the partition. Reading about it, I understood my error, but was not sure how to back out from the mistake.

I phoned Dell support. They assured me that I had completely messed up and there was no hope. Fortunately, I had more experience and training than they did. That's not arrogance. That is just true. So, I thought about it more and consulted Google. I found someone on the other side of the planet who had had a similar issue. The fix was simple, but involved multiple steps. I was able to re-establish the partition, and, once I did, the recovery data was still intact, which I has suspected because I had not deleted it.

This is why I say to get a second opinion. The phone support staff, in my case, while well meaning, were completely wrong. Had I listened to them, my acquaintance would have had to purchase a new copy of Windows and he would have lost all his data. Lucky for him, I have a rebellious streak.

Nevertheless, in this case, maybe it really is toast. Or maybe there is a way to remove the hard drive, get it in an enclosure (I am not positive how this would work for a laptop hard drive), and read it.

Best of luck either way!

Taro has also invested a lot into splinterlands and it's something he wants to keep playing and investing in long term.

If he have a smartphone, then he can still play it. Nowadays I play games only on my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy A12), because nowadays financially I cannot afford a PC/laptop.

I wish Taro the best. Hopefully soon he will be able to get a new laptop.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.

Due to his situation and concerns with local restrictions, he doesn't have access to SL or Hive on mobile. He does have access to Binance and Discord, so I was able to transfer the funds to my Tipbot, and then tip it to him in our Discord server.

Thanks again to everyone who showed support. Even if we hadn't collected this much, these comments and upvotes are encouraging and show the great support from this community! I know anything helps for him at this point.

Have a great day/night everyone!
