AVES STARGIS - This soul bound reward card will awake your attack less monsters

Wish you all a shining day ahead and I hope you all are enjoying this amazing #NFT #PLAY2EARN game at it’s best. Well, if you haven't heard, the team splinterlands has dropped the sneak peak of the upcoming chaos dragon legendary summoner LILY SHIELDPAW and it will be the last airdrop card for chaos edition. I really like these horde of little panda looking creatures and impressed with the summoner stat as well. This summoner will provide +1 health, Camouflage and Triage ability to all your friendly monsters and it costs only 6 mana to be used in battles. If you use this summoner in battles, all your backline monsters will be protected via camouflage ability until they come in front position so that’s gonna change the game I bet. The triage ability on top of that will heal your backline monsters if they get damaged by blasts or poison affect etc and as every friendly monster will get this Triage ability, there will be plenty of healing work for you which will help you stay alive in Noxious fumes ruleset. So, I will be waiting eagerly for this summoner card to get launched and will buy it and make max level soon.

SEASON PROGRESS

Now, moving on and looking into my season progress, today I got one of my favourite focus mission EARTH to play with and completed the quest by collecting total 10 focus reward chests today. And lucky me, from those 10 chests I pulled a new legendary monster today. Yes, I got the 2 BCXs of neutral splinter legendary monster DRYBONE RAIDER along with 6 BCXs of common IMPERIAL KNIGHT, around 53.98 SPS and of course, a bunch of alchemy potions from those 10 chests. This is my best pull in this ongoing season so far but as there’s still plenty of time left before season end, let’s see if I come across something even bigger or not. For season chests, I have gathered 23 reward chests so far which is not even half of my goal. But this week I will be busy with my bone plate removal surgery and thus can’t play routinely. So I am just targeting to reach 50+ chests for this time, let’s see how that goes.

Now, let me come towards the main theme of this post as today, I will be talking about another cool new soul bound reward card and as you have already guessed from the thumbnail, today I will be showcasing the AVES STURGIS.

AVES STURGIS

An Owl 🦉? Well yes, in splinterlands universe, we have a wide range of different looking monsters, distinct from each other but I never thought I will meet a monster here that resembles an owl. Kudos to the designer, the monster looks very unique and physically strong as well. This monster is a legendary type card that belongs to the LIFE splinter. It costs 6 mana to be used in battles and it’s attack type is magic. Let us now take a deeper dive and find out more about this monster at below.

Bronze

At level 1, this monster carries 2 magic attack at 2 speed with 1 armour and 3 health and also carries the Weapon Training ability from it’s initial level. With the combo of shield + health, this monster becomes defensive against melee and ranged attacks but weak against magic attacks.

Silver

At level 2, all the stats of this monster remains same as of it’s previous level but it does get another ability added to it - the Divine Shield. So now the first attack on this monster will be useless making it even more defensive at silver level.

Gold

At the next upgradation, this monster gets an increased firepower of 3 magic attack at 2 speed, 1 armour and 3 health along with those 2 abilities that it received from it’s lower level. Having a good magic attack at gold tier makes this monster offensive as well and a good choice in magic friendly matches.

Diamond / Champ

At the last level, this monster gets another amazing ability Rust which certainly makes it badass against monsters with shield. It possesses same stat of 3 magic attack at 2 speed with 1 armour and 3 health at the diamond tier.

Abilities:

Weapons Training - Adjacent monsters gets half this monsters attack if they have no attack themselves.

Divine Shield - First attack on this monster will be useless.

Rust - All enemy monsters will have -2 Armour from the beginning.

Important Points about AVES STARGIS

First of all, it’s 6 mana cost and decent magic attack makes it a suitable choice for medium to high mana limit matches.

It’s defensive stat with a combo of shield + health and Divine Shield ability on top of that makes it a hard target against melee and ranged attackers. However, it can’t be chosen as a main defender and you may have to place it in midline so that it stays alive for longer.

It’s weapon Training ability is really amazing which will give adjacent monsters half of it’s attack power if they are attack less. I haven't practically used this ability yet but definitely it will be a game changer when those attack less monsters starts attacking.

Because of it’s rust ability, you may use it to weaken the enemy defence by reducing their shields by -2. It will work nicely against those monsters with protect ability or in matches with extra shield ruleset.
