Playing with Fire Spitter : My Splinterlands Battle Story

This is your splinter fellow warrior mango-juice with another Splinterlands Battle challenge post!!

Greetings Splinter lovers! I hope you all are well and enjoying splinterlands on it's fullest. Anyways, the arena 2 brawl is heating up the scenario and a war-going vibe is going on among our Neoxian guild as we have successfully upgraded our guild arena to level 2 recently and going to play our second brawl match next. Now we have +3 = 16 total frays which means 16 guild players can enter together into brawl from now on. Last time I skipped the brawl but this time will try to sneak into one. Soon we will enter the brawl arena and be victorious once again.

Now talking about the battle post, last week, the battle monster was FIRE SPITTER! I am running late as usual with writing these battle challenges so Let us straight look into this wild 4 mana range card from the the Dragon realm!

The FIRE SPITTER is one of the latest reward monster of splinterlands. This highly powered ranged card belongs to the Dragon section and it comes with both normal and gold foil edition as well. This is obviously a must-have dragon monster and a very important card in whole ranged section as well because of his high speed devastating ranged attacks! A medium 4 mana cost monster packed with both flying and Dodge abilities becomes very reliable in many certain situations, especially when you want a high attack in your line up and also want to defend your back side.

FIRE SPITTER is super usable in varieties of matches, especially in medium and large mana matches. Normally, Dragon is generally played with melee (when using Daria) or range monsters (when using Selenia). But in some cases, specially in medium mana matches, you might wanna use cost effective monsters like Manticore or FIRE SPITTER so take control of the battle. So, If you want something aggressive which will deal high damage to opponents with a high speed attack and further standing a defence with flying and dodge, well, then the FIRE SPITTER can be your best friend!

Luckily, I have a level max FIRE SPITTER in red-dog account for so long, since it got launched in reward edition. I did a mistake by not buying it myself but still, I play with it a lot as it delivers me great potential whenever required. So, today, I will be sharing the battle from my alt account red-dog.

Ok so, before moving on, lt use see what s being written in the book of Splinterlore for her.

Small but mighty, the Fire Spitters have recently descended upon the Dragon Splinter of Draykh-Nahka, where they fit right in. They come from a faraway exotic place only known as the Pocket Dimension. The Pocket Dimension has many key differences to the Splinterlands, but lots of things in common as well. Most of the monsters there are smaller than those native to the Splinterlands, including the Fire Spitter. However, even the smallest Fire Spitters can produce a magnificent blaze, large enough to easily incinerate a cottage in a few minutes.

For this reward edition card, Right now there is currently a couple of spitter available at the market, the lowest one of them costs 20.00$ ( 0.43$/bcx, 20,147.074 DEC total). However, there are also some high-level monsters available at slightly higher prices and The single ones are available starting at 0.42$ and will cost you 423.089 DEC as per the current rate.

What Fire Spitter is actually capable of?

Let's have a look into his stats and find out!

Level 1 - In its initial level, it carries 2 ranged attack with 4 health and 4 speed. It also brings Flying ability at the initial level with it.
Level 3 - At level 3, it carries 3 ranged attack at 4 speed and 5 health.
Level 5 - At the 5th level, It possesses 3 ranged attack with 7 health at 4 speed.
Level 6 - At the maximum level, It possesses 3 ranged attack with 7 health at 4 speed. It also gets the dodge ability from max level.

Ruleset So, It was a double rule set as below...

- Spreading Fury all the Monsters will get enrage ability.
- Taking Sides No neutral Monsters can be used in this match.

It's a match of medium mana monsters this time and I am thinking to go for the my dragon summoner Selenia Sky because there is plenty of mana to spend in this match as i ll chose rangers mostly AND I will choose all my favorite monsters. Since the rule-sets are favoring melee and ranged ones as well, this time I go and use some medium melee and magic monsters to attack only at the front side of enemy line up.

`Line-Up`

`SPINEBACK TURTLE`

I chose SPINEBACK TURTLE in the first place because of its high armour + health combo with decent melee attack + Thorns ability. I have a level 10 and it has 3 melee attack at 2 speed, 5 armour and 7 health.

`MERMAID HEALER`

I placed MERMAID HEALER in the second place because of its decent magic attack with triage, cleanse and strengthen ability. I have a level 6 and it has 1 magic attack at 3 speed and 5 health. This is Mainly to give my other cards a bit of more protection.

`FIRE SPITTER`

I chose FIRE SPITTER in the third place because of its high ranged attack with flying and dodge ability. I have a level 6 and it has 3 ranged attack at 4 speed and 7 health.

`PIRATE ARCHER`

I chose PIRATE ARCHER in the fourth place because of its decent ranged attack and decent health with blast ability. I have a level 8 currently and it has 2 ranged attack at 4 speed and 4 health.

`NAGA WINDMASTER`

I chose NAGA WINDMASTER in the fifth place because of its medium level ranged attack with headwinds, poison and shatter ability at only 4 mana cost. I have a level 8 and it has 2 ranged attack at 4 speed and 4 health.

`RULER OF THE SEAS`

I chose RULER OF THE SEAS in the last place because of its high magic attack with blast + swift + silence ability. I have a level 4 currently and it has 4 magic attack at 3 speed and 5 health.

Battle Result

Let us now take a dive into the gameplay.

Well, as it was no doubt a well designed medium mana match, I went with all of my favorite monsters this time, 1 melee at front followed by 3 ranged monsters and 2 magics attacking the first card, how is that for a strategy my friends! My opponent was having max level cards also, Battle Orca at front and some other high-level cards and his line up was great too! Let's look down to the match!

First, let us follow the opponent's line-up...

My opponent @bet1x2 used Dragon summoner Delwyn Dragonscale against me.
At the front position, he used battle Orca level 8.
At the second position, he puts Gold Dragon level 4.
At the third he used Pirate Captain lev 10.
At the fourth position, he puts Mermaid Healer level 4.
At the fifth position, he puts Crustacean King level 6.
At the last position, he puts Pirate Archer level 8.

As you can see from the battle link above, the opponent's line up was full with all max level melee + magic + ranged summoners. At the front, he was protecting himself with a level 8 Battle orca, followed by a Gold Dragon so that any big magic attack would return to the attacker. At the middle he used Pirate Captain and Mermaid Healer, Crust. King and Pirate archer at last - a heavy combo of melee, ranged and magic throwers. Both his front and rear were well covered up.

He would have guessed that I would use magic monsters mostly, But this time I went with a ranged deck against him and I played a trick this time by putting that Spineback Turtle at the front position. The Turtle soaked up all the attacks from the enemy monsters that were not in the front position and gave me enough time to kill his defenses one after another. The Turtle got died in the fight but by then I almost killed half his monsters because his frontal defense got shattered away by my ruler with his brutal blast magic attacks and the blasts from my dwarf.

My opponent @bet1x2 really played great! I face him often on the battlefield and his line ups are great as always! If you are reading this, please give him a shout out ;)
