Renting some big Splinterlands cards for season end

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands warriors!

I am doing okay and hope all of you are enjoying this pleasant day with your loved ones as well. For all those out there, who consider themselves as serious splinter players are probably preparing for the upcoming season end as only 4 days and 21 hours left in the season timer. There are mainly 2 reasons that I think increase the gameplay traffic during these last 2 - 4 days in every splinterlands ranked season. First of all, the leaderboard prizes in every league from silver to champion have their separate leaderboard and prizes for the top 40 players in every ranked season, where the top place holder in the Silver league gets 40k Dec and the topper in the champion league gets a whooping 200k liquid dec just for securing the top place. Secondly, after every season end, the rank and trophy count of all the players gets reset back, so they all try their best to perform in these last days and before the rest to score more wins and get rewarded with more SPS and reward chests. After the season reset, the season chests become claimable and the more you play and gather season points throughout the season, the more reward chests will be unlocked and claimable, so players try to collect more before the time runs out and many of us drain out all their battle energy during this high time.

For me, as usual, I am playing in the Diamond tier and like every season, I have entered into the leaderboard war and started pushing my trophy count little by little already. In the last season or even the one before that, I couldn’t secure the top 3 places and only won just 30k amount of dec for being in the top 10 in the last season. So, this time I am all buckled up for some adventure and already started battling while there's plenty of time left. Now, though I have a complete max level chaos legion core card collection, an almost finished Riftwatchers collection (only 4 cards left as of now) and chaos promo cards (excluding only Zyriel) in my playing account, along with some max level cards from the old untamed edition as well, so my deck is decently powerful and competitive in the modern format while being played in Diamond league. But, when it comes to performing for the high-level leaderboard war, my deck is certainly not powerful enough to fight against the OGs of splinterlands. I tried fighting in the last season with only my own collection and probably 1 or 2 rented cards, but I failed miserably firing the last 2 days while fighting ranked matches against some of the most powerful diamond players and moreover, when you play at top of any league, winning a match gets you only 3 or max 4 trophies but losing a match costs you 30 - 34 trophies, which is enough to pull you down by a large margin and that's what happens to me most of the time, including the last season. While playing during the last season, at a point I even came to the 4th place in the leaderboard but only 2 losses thrown me out to near the 10th position. Not much time was left by then from the season end and also my energy rate had hit 0, even after recharging them with dec and keep trying for a while. So, I decided to stop playing anymore during the last day and after the season reset, I got happy with the 30k dec that I received as leaderboard prize.

But, I did take some lessons from my last season's performance and to perform better in this ongoing one, I decided to jump into the leaderboard fight a bit earlier. Yes, though there are still almost 5 days left for this current season to meet its end, I already started pushing my rating and currently playing with a 4198 trophy count and in 2nd position. I knew that with my incomplete card collection for the modern format, in order to boost my performance I must rent some good cards from the old Untamed set and was saving dec since the season start to pay for the rent near season end. So, finally today I rent some high-performance summoner and monster cards from the Untamed set and no doubt they are really helping me to ladder up the leaderboard with their unmatched potential.

BYZANTINE KITTY

The first card that I rented is a max-level Byzantine kitty summoner and real players do know its true potential in splinterlands, especially when you want to play against the pro players. It is a very useful summoner for both wild and modern format gameplay and of course one of the most costliest cards in this game. In battles, it provides +2 speed, Tank Healing and True aim to all the friendly monsters. I rented this card at max level for a whooping 2131 Dec per day.

LIR DEEPSWIMMER

The second summoner card that I rented for this mega fight is the legendary untamed Lir Deepswimmer at max level and I paid 399.9 dec per day for this anti ranged summoner. This summoner gives +2 armor, Return Fire and Blind ability to all of your friendly monsters and it's very popular against ranged attacks as you can clearly see from its buffs.

CAMILA SUNGAZER

The third summoner that I rented today is none other than the amazing Camila Sungazer and it is also a legendary dragon summoner from an untamed set. It only costs 3 mana to be used in battles and it decreases 1 melee attack from every enemy monster in battle which will be very useful when you counter against melee monsters. I rented this card at max level for only 69.9 Dec per day.

LOBSTRADAMUS

Now for the monster card, the first one that I thought to rent in is the Lobstradamus and it's an epic-type water splinter card that costs 6 mana to be used in battles. At max level, this card gets 2 magic attacks at 1 speed with a fat 12 health along with 3 defensive abilities - Shield, Magic Reflect and Thorns which will help you to fight against both melee and magic monsters. I rented this card for 200.35 Dec per day.

KRALUS

The second monster card that I preferred to rent for the mega fight is the Kralus which is a legendary type card that belongs to the Life splinter and costs 12 mana to be used in battles. It is an amazing dual attack type card for high mana limit matches and at max level, it possesses 2 magic + 2 melee attacks at 3 speeds with 5 armor and 13 health along with 4 abilities - Immune, Flying, Healing and Strengthen.

THE VIGILATOR

The third monster that I chose to rent in my playing account is obviously the Vigilator which is another legendary card that belongs to Dragon Splinter and costs 9 mana to be used in battles. Just like Kralus, it is also a dual attack type card and at max level it gets 2 ranged + 3 melee attack type at 4 speed with 8 health along with 3 abilities - Double Strike, Thorns and Poison. Yes, this card will attack total 4 times (dual attack x attack 2 times back to back in a single turn) so you can clearly guess how important this card can be as an attacker in this game. Anyways, I rented this card for 60.88 dec per day.

POSEIDON

The next card that I rented to boost my performance is none other than the Poseidon which is a legendary ranged card from water splinter. At max level, it carries 5 ranged attacks at 3 speeds with 8 health along with 3 abilities - Shield, Blast and Immune. I rented this card because of its high-powered blasting ranged attack which will be very helpful in high mana limit matches and I rented this card for 139.86 dec per day.

SCALE DOCTOR

The last card that I rented for this season is the defense king of Untamed, Scale doctor which belongs to the dragon splinter and costs 5 mana to be used in battles. At max level it possesses 1 ranged attack at 2 speed with 7 health along with 4 amazing abilities - Strengthen, Triage, Rust and Repair. I rented this card into my active playing collection for just 56 dec per day and it is already helping me well to ladder up into the leaderboard.

So, these were the 8 cards that I rented for this season and hope the result gets fruitful as I have invested over 11k Dec just to rent them for the next 4 days. This is my first time investing big just for renting as I normally prefer to buy cards one after another, but these card prices have gone beyond the moon already because of their usability. So, it is pretty impossible for me now to buy them all in, so I thought why not try renting and using them for a couple of days to find out if they really help me to secure a good spot in the lb and more reward chests or not? I only rented them today, so let me play with them For the next 4 days to get the practical result and I will share that with you all in the future.
