Splinterlands Avatar and Exemplar update is Literally Amazing
Hello Splinterlands fam!
Welcome to my fresh Splinterlands post, and I guess you all are doing well in your lives and spending a pleasing Sunday with your family and friends. By the way, there’s a festive winter vibe going on around the world for the upcoming Christmas event and it looks like the Splinterlands family is already at the party! Now, those of you playing this game on a daily basis, I hope by now, you all have already noticed a big update that changed the game. Yes, I am talking about the Avatar and Exemplar, where player now gets their own unique looking and own unique card to make, and believe me, it's pure fun and open for everyone. All about that later in this post and looking at the clock of the current ranked season, we only have exactly 10 days in hand before this season ends. So, if you are actively playing in this ranked one, be sure to start pushing and shoving towards your goal, whether it is to collect enough trophies to climb into your goal league tier, or to compete against the OGs for a glorious seat in the champion top leaderboard. I wish you all the best of luck for the season.
On the other hand, there are 10 days remaining for the new frontier ranked season as well and if you have already been playing hard and have completed maxing out your foundation card collection, most probably you are fighting for a spot in the top leaderboard position in the frontier mode. For me, I am, as usual, playing for the top Gold I league tier with a current trophy count of 2,960 and having almost another week in hand, I think I can cross 3500 trophies at least this time. Now, though I have upgraded a lot of my foundation cards to max level, I have yet to enter the top positions because I still have some very important cards to upgrade to max. Especially the water summoner and some epic and legendary cards. In the foundation edition, it is pretty clear that water element cards are the best in the series, and as expected, their prices are also higher than others. I have already invested earlier to buy some Water Archon cards to upgrade mine and levelled them up to level 3. Since then, I have got 7 of these cards and need 4 more, which I may consider buying soon. On the other hand, for the upcoming frontier raffle, I have collected 42 so far, and having only another day in hand, tomorrow ai will try to score all 9 to boost my number and pray for a lucky outcome. Let’s see if I can finally win something in this raffle.
Moving forward, let’s now talk about the Avatar and Exemplar update and no doubt, it is one of the most imaginative approaches, in the form of a live update, that the splinterlands team has released related to creating a player’s personal identity in this digital land. So, basically, every splinterlands player will receive their unique avatar, a 3D face that can be customisable with hundreds of combinations. And yes, you can turn your avatar into a lot of outputs from changing its hair colour, facial marks, to caps and clothes. You can easily view your avatar by opening the game website and then clicking on your player profile icon, as shown in the screenshot above, and you can also see badges that you select for your available inventory, like my batch showing 18 is one, because I started playing this game back in 2018 and won this as a collectable.
Now, while that is your avatar, the exemplar is actually the card itself attached with the avatar picture, which will carry a set of all basic stats as like all other cards in the splinterlands game. At the basic, the card will be of 0 mana cost, which carries 1 health and speed only. However, the stats of the card can be chosen and upgraded using points. You can upgrade your exemplar as a wood common type card, and as you upgrade your exemplar using the earned points, bunch of which you may have already received for past activities. The higher the number of updates you perform in your exemplar level, the more and different types of stags and abilities you can choose to add to your personal exemplar card. Isn’t it just great!
Anyway, for me, I have already got a bunch of points and after discovering about the exemplar level update, without no second thought, I went for the Exemplar update and updated my card to level 25 and now, though my card is of the same stats - 1 health and 1 speed stats, I hove a now a whooping 44 points available to upgrade my exemplar card - from it attack type and power to its speed, stats and health and the mana cost will be also be increasing automatically, as you add more stats or abilities to the card. So, you have the liberty to decide and create your best creation in the form of a card.
Now, with my wildest imagination, I created a card. I am deep into the frontier mode nowadays and there, I really miss the presence of a magic card in that fire element in that mode. So for my card, I decided to go for a high end magic card and the result is at your front in the screenshot above. For my exemplar card, I chose 4 magic attack at 1 speed with 1 armour and 9 health, along with the Void ability. So, you can clearly see that I wanted a tank monster that fires magic attacks and also receives plenty of them before going down. However, the mana cost for this set of stats has cost me 45 points, so there’s -1 point.
However, I have not spent my points and will obviously think hard before actually spending my points for an amazingly researched stats and ability set. I am really excited about this whole exemplar thing. Just today, when I discovered the Christmas sale for the Avatar clothes ongoing in the official Avatar shop, I bought myself a Christmas red hat, red vest and sweater using my leftover glint tokens.
