Splinterlands | The ARCANE SKINWALKER is a Magic Attacker and Ability King

Hello my fellow Warriors,

Welcome back to another fresh new Splinterlands post everyone, and I guess that all of you are doing great in your lives and enjoying a pleasant and energetic day with your family and friends. Now, for those of you who actively play this amazing web3 strategy-based card game on a regular basis and are seriously focusing on building your card collection and assets in this game, I believe many of you are already jumping back into the battle arena now that a brand new ranked season has begun. The previous season has just ended recently, and the new one has already kicked off with around 14 days and 19 hours left on the clock. So once again, the race has begun for league promotions, juicy reward chests, and of course, those competitive leaderboard positions. As always, I wish all of you the best of luck in your battles, and remember to manage your battle energy carefully throughout the season so you can maximise your rewards.

Now, taking a quick look at my own activities in the game, as I have mentioned in my previous posts, I usually spend most of my time playing in the Frontier mode and trying to maintain a strong position in the Gold league. Since the previous season just ended, the trophy reset has pushed me back down, and right now, my current trophy count stands at around 2,500. But that is quite normal after the season reset, so from here, the grind begins again. My long-term goal for this season remains the same as usual, which is to climb up the ranks steadily and try to secure a spot on the leaderboard. On the other hand, if we take a look at the weekly Frontier raffle, I have currently collected a total of 48 entries. With only around 18 hours left before the raffle draw takes place, I will try to increase this number to at least 57 entries so that my chances improve a bit more. Let’s see if luck decides to favour me this time.

Arcane Skinwalker

Now moving forward, let us come to the main topic of this post, as today I will be shining light on another interesting monster from the Conclave Arcana set. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today I will be talking about the Arcane Skinwalker. So if you are interested in learning more about this monster card, let us take a deeper dive without any further delay.

The Arcane Skinwalker is a monster-type card that was introduced in the game with the Conclave Arcana special promo edition. This card was originally airdropped to players who purchased packs during the presale of this edition, which makes it a unique and interesting addition to the game and costly as well. Anyway, this monster belongs to the Neutral element and comes from the Fiend bloodline. By rarity, this card is a Rare monster, so you will require a total of 115 CC cards in order to upgrade it to its maximum level. Now, if you want to use this monster in battles, you need to spend a relatively high mana cost of 8, which means it fits better in medium to high mana limit matches. The attack type of this monster is Magic, and apart from its magical attack power, it also comes with a solid amount of armor and health that help it survive longer in battles. At its maximum level this monster gains a total of four abilities, which makes it quite a unique and powerful card. Let us now take a closer look at this monster’s league-wise stats and abilities below to understand this monster better.

BRONZE

At level 2, this monster holds a decent set of stats that consist of 2 magic attack power at 3 speed with 4 armor and 5 health. Apart from these base stats, it also gains its first ability called Shapeshift. This is quite an interesting ability because it allows the monster to interact with different bloodline-based mechanics in the game.

SHAPESHIFT – Treated as all bloodlines.

SILVER

When this monster gets upgraded further to level 4, its stats slightly change and it now holds 2 magic attack power at 2 speed with 4 armor and 6 health. At this stage, it also unlocks another useful ability called Inspire. This ability can become extremely valuable when you are using multiple melee attackers in your lineup.

INSPIRE – +1 melee power to all allied units.

GOLD

As this monster gets upgraded further and reaches level 6, its stats adjust again and it now carries 2 magic attack power at 3 speed with 4 armor and 6 health. At this level it also unlocks another powerful ability called Camouflage. This ability helps protect the monster while it continues casting magic attacks from the backline.

CAMOUFLAGE – Cannot be directly targeted unless in the first position. This does not affect indirect attacks such as Scattershot, Blast splash damage, Trample, or Wingbreak.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this monster to its maximum level of 8, its stats increase further and it now holds 3 magic attack power at 3 speed with 4 armor and 6 health. At this level it also gains another very useful ability called Silence. This ability can become extremely valuable when facing magic-heavy enemy lineups.

SILENCE – Reduces the magic attack power of all enemy units by 1.

Last but not least, I think this monster can be quite useful in several different types of battles. First of all, it comes with a decent magic attack power, though the mana cost of 8 feels a bit heavy in some matches. However, the large set of abilities this monster carries definitely makes up for that cost. My favourite ability on this monster is Inspire, which becomes very useful when you are running multiple melee attackers in your lineup and want to increase their attack power. Another ability that I really like is Silence, which weakens enemy magic attackers and makes their attacks less threatening. Overall, I think the Arcane Skinwalker is a very interesting monster that offers a lot of utility because of its multiple abilities, and it can be a great addition to your collection for certain battle strategies. What do you think?

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about ARCANE SKINWALKER. Let me know your thoughts about today's post in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.
