Splinterlands | The ASHVEIL TACTICIAN is a No Attack But Great Abilities

Welcome back to another Splinterlands post, and I hope all of you are doing pretty well and spending an awesome day with your family and friends. For those of you who are actively playing this amazing web3 card-based strategy game and focusing hard on building your card and other asset collection in Splinterlands, I believe most, if not all of you, are currently busy grinding ranked battles and trying to improve your standings before the season ends. If we take a quick look at the current season timer, there are still around 4 days and 19 hours left before the current ranked season meets its end. So this is a very crucial phase where every battle matters, and whether you want to push your trophy count and secure your desired league tier position or aim for even further and grab a spot in the champion top leaderboard, I wish you all the best and hope you reach there sooner this time. Just make sure to manage your battle energy carefully so that you can maximise your rewards and don't miss them when needed the most.

Now, taking a look at my own progress in the frontier mode in this game, I am currently playing in Gold I, the highest league tier, with a trophy count of around 3,560. My main goal remains the same, which is to reach the 4,000 trophy mark first of all and then try pushing further for the leaderboard. With only a few days left, it is going to be a bit challenging, but I will try my best to make it happen.

On the other hand, if we take a look at the weekly Frontier raffle, so far, I have already collected a total of 15 entries. With around 2 days and 18 hours left before the raffle draw, I will try to increase this number to at least 50 entries or more. Since I missed a couple of days of playing this season, I had to reduce my target this time, but let’s see how things go. You can also see the outcome of the 3 foundation packs which I won from my last playing and gladly, this time I got myself 1 legendary, 3 rares, including 2 summoners and all the rest common cards, which is a very good pull, I think.

Ashveil Tactician

Now moving forward, let us come to the main topic of this post, as today I will be taking a closer look at a very unique monster from the newest Escalation mini edition. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today I will be projecting the spotlight upon the Ashveil Tactician. So if you are interested in learning more about this monster card, let us dive deeper without any further delay.

The Ashveil Tactician is a monster-type card that was introduced in the game with the newly launched Escalation edition mini cardset. This monster belongs to the Fire element and comes from the Elf bloodline. By rarity, this card is a Rare monster, so you will require a total of 115 CC cards in order to upgrade it to its maximum level. Now, if you want to use this monster in battles, you only need to spend 4 mana, which makes it very easy to fit into different types of lineups from low to high, including the ones with little league ruleset. Interestingly, this monster does not have any attack of its own, but instead relies completely on its abilities to provide value to your team. At its maximum level, this monster gains a total of four abilities, which makes it a very strong support unit. Let us now take a closer look at its league-wise stats and abilities to find out more about this monster.

BRONZE

At level 2, this monster holds decent defensive stats that consist of 3 speed with 2 armor and 4 health. Even though it does not have any attack power, it gains its first ability called Inspire. This ability makes it very useful when you are running a lineup with multiple melee attackers.

INSPIRE – +1 melee power to all allied units.

SILVER

When you upgrade this monster further to level 4, its stats improve and it now holds 4 speed with 3 armor and 5 health. At this level, it also unlocks another useful ability called Pinpoint. This ability works very well when combined with Sneak-based strategies.

PINPOINT – Allied Sneak attacks cannot miss.

GOLD

As this monster gets upgraded further and reaches level 6, its stats improve again and it now carries 4 speed with 3 armor and 7 health. At this level, it also gains another ability called Magic Reflect. This makes it a good option when facing magic-heavy enemy teams.

MAGIC REFLECT – Returns 50% of damage to the attacker (rounded up) when hit by a magic attack.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this monster to its maximum level of 10, its stats improve further and it now holds 5 speed with 4 armor and 9 health. At this level, it also gains another powerful ability called Shield Ward. This ability makes it very useful when placed in the second position to support your main tank.

SHIELD WARD – At the start of the battle, the unit in front of this unit gains Shield.

Last but not least, I think this monster is a very strong support unit despite having no attack. First of all, it comes with a solid combination of armor and health, along with good speed, which helps it survive for a long time in battles. Another major advantage is its synergy with melee attackers. The Inspire and Pinpoint abilities together can significantly boost the effectiveness of Sneak-based melee strategies. On top of that, the Magic Reflect ability makes it a good choice against magic-heavy lineups. Finally, its Shield Ward ability makes it extremely useful when placed in the second position, as it provides additional protection to your frontline tank. Overall, I think the Ashveil Tactician is a very strategic and useful monster that can enhance your team's performance in multiple ways. What do you think?
