Splinterlands | The HODLOR is a Dual Attack Powerful Monster

Hello Splinterlands Warriors,

Welcome back to another Splinterlands post of mine, and I guess all of you are doing well in life and enjoying a fresh new day with your friends and family. Now, if you are one of those who are actively playing this strategy game on a regular basis and focusing on growing your in-game card collection and other assets, then I believe most of you are currently busy fighting in the season ranked arena and pushing and shoving your trophy count higher, whether your goal is to enter a certain league tier, or to compete against the OGs for a glorious seat in the top champion leaderboard. If we take a look at the current ranked season timer, there are still around 7 days and 20 hours left before this season meets its end. So, there is still a decent amount of time left in hand to climb up the trophy ladder and secure better rewards this time, folks. Just keep in mind to balance well and manage your battle energy wisely, so you can maximise your reward earnings throughout the season.

Now, if I talk about my own progress in the game, I am, as usual, playing deeply into the Frontier gameplay and building my foundation card collection. Right now, I am playing in the Gold I, the highest league tier, with a trophy count of around 3,360. My plan for this season remains the same as usual, which is to first reach the 4,000 trophy mark as soon as possible, and then try pushing further to see if I can secure a spot on the leaderboard. As you can see, there is still enough time left, so I will continue grinding steadily and let's see how it goes.

On the other hand, if we take a look at the weekly Frontier raffle, I have currently collected a total of 48 entries. With around 19 hours left before the raffle draw, I will try to increase this number to somewhere between 54 and 57 entries to improve my chances. Let’s see how it turns out this time. In the screenshot above, I have also shared the outcome of opening 3 foundation packs that I earned from my last day's fighting. As you can see, the outcome is not bad, as I got 1 legendary, 5 rare, and the rest common cards.

Hodlor

Now moving forward, let us come to the main topic of this post, as today I will be talking about another interesting monster card from the Conclave Arcana cardset. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today I will be discussing the Hodlor. So if you are interested in learning more about this monster, let us take a deeper dive without any further delay.

The Hodlor is a monster-type card that was introduced in the game with the latest Conclave Arcana edition. This monster belongs to the Neutral element and it comes from the Human bloodline. By rarity, this card is an Epic monster, so you will require a total of 46 CC cards in order to upgrade it to its maximum level. Now, if you want to use this monster in battles, you need to spend 6 mana, which makes it a solid option for medium mana to high mana limit matches. The attack type of this monster is quite interesting because it features both Melee and Magic attacks, which makes it capable of dealing damage in multiple ways every round. At its maximum level, this monster gains a total of three abilities, which adds more value to its overall performance. BRONZE

At level 2, this monster possesses decent stats that consist of 2 melee and 1 magic attack power at 3 speed with 4 health. Apart from these base stats, it also gets an ability from its initial level called Reach. This ability allows this monster to perform an attack when placed in the second position of your lineup.

REACH – Can use the melee attack from the second position.

SILVER

When you upgrade this monster further to level 3, its core stats remain similar: i.e., 2 melee and 1 magic attack power at 3 speed with 4 health. But it unlocks another useful ability called Dispel. This ability is quite helpful when dealing with enemies that rely on buffs to strengthen themselves.

DISPEL – Removes magic buffs after a successful attack.

GOLD

As this monster gets upgraded further and reaches level 5, its stats improve and it now carries 3 melee and 1 magic attack power at 4 speed with 5 health. At this level, it also gains another important ability called Phase. This ability increases its survivability against magic-based enemies.

PHASE – Magic attacks have the same chance to miss as physical attacks.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this monster to its maximum level of 6, its stats increase further and it now holds 3 melee and 2 magic attack power at 4 speed with 5 health. Even though it does not gain a new ability at this level, the increase in magic attack makes it even more dangerous in battles.

Last but not least, I think this monster can be quite useful in many different types of battles. First of all, it is a dual-attack monster that offers both melee and magic damage for just 6 mana cost, which is quite impressive to be honest. At its maximum level, it can deal a total of 5 attack power, which is very strong even for high mana limit matches. Another advantage is its set of abilities. The Reach ability allows you to use it effectively from the second position, while the Dispel ability helps remove enemy cards' magic buffs. On top of that, the Phase ability makes it a harder target for enemy magic attackers. Overall, I think the Hodlor is a powerful and versatile monster that can be a great addition to your collection for competitive battles. What do you think?
