Splinterlands | The MALTHRAKSIS is a Dual Attack Fearless Beast

Welcome back to another fresh and awesome Splinterlands post guys, and I hope all of you are doing well in life and enjoying a great day with your family and friends. Now, if you are one of those who are actively playing this card-based strategy game without any distractions and tirelessly building your NFT card and other asset collection, I think all of you are currently fighting through the ongoing ranked season and trying to push your trophy count higher to reach your goal. If we take a quick look at the ongoing ranked season timer, there are still around 9 days and 23 hours left before the reset happens. So there is still plenty of time in hand to climb higher on the trophy, secure better league tier rewards, and maybe even prepare for a leaderboard push later on if you have enough battle energy and confidence.

Now, talking about my own progress in the frontier section of this game, I am currently playing in the highest Gold I league tier with a trophy count of around 3,720. My goal this season remains the same, which is to reach the 4,200 trophy mark first and then try for the leaderboard if everything goes well. With enough time left, I will try my level best to stay consistent and keep pushing forward and let's see how it goes.

On the other hand, if we take a look at the weekly Frontier raffle, I have currently collected a total of 15 entries. With around 5 days and 22 hours left before the raffle draw, I will try to increase this number to somewhere between 54 and 57 entries as usual. Let’s see how things turn out this time. Also, I have opened 6 foundation packs today that I won from the last 2 days' daily missions. As for the outcome, I received 4 epics, 4 rares, a gold foil common and all the rest common cards, and not to mention I am very happy with this pull.

Malthraksis

Now moving forward, let us come to the main topic of this post, as today I will be discussing another powerful monster from the newest Escalation edition. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today I will be talking about the Malthraksis. So if you are interested in learning more about this monster card, let us take a deeper dive without any further delay.

The Malthraksis is a monster type card that was introduced in the game with the newest Escalation mini cardset edition. This monster belongs to the Water element and comes from the Undead bloodline. By rarity, this card is a Legendary monster, so you will require a total of 11 CC cards in order to upgrade it to its maximum level. Now, if you want to use this monster in battles, you need to spend 7 mana, which makes it suitable for medium to high mana limit matches. The attack type of this monster is a combination of both Melee and Ranged, which already makes it quite special. Along with that, it comes with a decent balance of speed, armor, and health, making it reliable both offensively and defensively. At its maximum level, this monster gains a total of four abilities, which I will explain below. Let us now take a closer look at its league-wise stats and abilities.

BRONZE

At level 1, this monster starts with 1 ranged and 2 melee attack power at 3 speed with 1 armor and 6 health. Even at its initial level, it gains the Opportunity ability. This makes it very effective at finishing off weaker enemy units quickly.

OPPORTUNITY – Targets the enemy unit with the least health.

SILVER

When you upgrade this monster further, its stats remain similar, but it unlocks another ability called Kindred Will: Deflection Shroud. This ability becomes very useful when combined with other Kindred-based monsters.

KINDRED WILL: DEFLECTION SHROUD – At the start of battle, adjacent units with Kindred Spirit gain Deflection Shroud.

GOLD

As this monster gets upgraded further, its stats improve and it now holds 2 ranged and 2 melee attack power at 3 speed with 1 armour and 7 health. At this level, it also gains the Painforge ability. This allows the monster to grow stronger under certain conditions.

PAINFORGE – +1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning or hit by an ally.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this monster to its maximum level, its stats improve further and it now carries 2 ranged and 2 melee attack power at 3 speed with 1 armor and 8 health. At this level, it also gains another powerful ability called Protect. This adds a strong defensive boost to your entire lineup.

PROTECT – Gives +2 armor to all allied units.

Last but not least, I think this monster is a very powerful and versatile card. First of all, it comes with dual attack types, both melee and ranged, which is quite rare and very useful, especially for a 7 mana monster. This makes it a great option for high mana or aggressive battle setups. Another strong advantage is its Opportunity ability, which allows it to target the weakest enemy unit and quickly eliminate it using its dual attack power. This can help you gain an early advantage in battles. On top of that, the Protect ability gives +2 armor to all allied units, making your entire team more durable against melee and ranged attacks. The Kindred Will ability also opens up synergy opportunities if you place compatible monsters next to it. Lastly, the Painforge ability gives it additional power when affected by certain conditions, making it even more dangerous in the right scenarios. Overall, I think the Malthraksis is a fearless dual-attack beast that offers both offensive strength and defensive support, making it a great addition to any competitive lineup. What do you think?
