This double attack type NFT monster is hero of high mana battles

What’s up my fellow splinterlands warriors!

I hope all of you are doing very well in your life and enjoying the weekend with your family and friends. However, if you are a daily splinterlands player just like me, the next 5 days will be important for us because we only have that much time in our hands before this ongoing ranked season meets its end. Me, though I have already started pushing towards the leaderboard, but as I am playing in the Champion League this season, I am having quite a hard time playing against the top OG players of this game. Usually, I am a Diamond League player and I try to push myself at Diamond I tier as early as possible after every season starts and then I try to reach the leaderboard because of the lucrative DEC prizes there. But this time, I decided to try my luck and thus, I climbed up into the Champion League and played at the Champion II tier. But as I have been playing for around a week now, I don’t think I can able to secure any place on the leaderboard here, because the competition is so high even when there’s a week left before the season ends.

But another thing I would like to add here is that the rewards are a bit better in the Champion League rather than in Diamond, as I have already got a couple of legendaries and epic cards and also a handful of gold foil cards from the daily focus reward chests. As for season chests, I have already accumulated a total of 77 season chests so far, but as I finished the previous season while in Diamond, my season chests will be Diamond level this time. My current trophy count on the other hand is 4,275 right now and though I have touched the Champ I league already for some time, but then I lost consecutively and got booted out to here again. Now, as the season progresses, let’s see how I can perform in these upcoming days and if I can secure at least something from the leaderboard.

DRYBONE RAIDER

Now moving forward, let’s now come to the main theme of this post as today, I will be showcasing one of my recent ranked gameplay where I used one of my favourite soul-bound cards Drybone Raider.

Drybone Raider is a legendary edition card that came out with the latest edition soul-bound reward edition cards and it is by far one of my favourite cards among the latest reward series. It costs a whooping 12 mana to be used in battles and you may only use this card in high mana limit matches. But unlike most of the other monsters out there, this card holds 2 types of attack - melee + ranged which makes it very special as a more deadly attacker. Not only that, this card also holds a good defensive stance with a combo of shield and health which protects it well and it can survive multiple attacks before going down. Let us now take a deeper look into this card level-wise below.

Bronze

At level 1, this card possesses 2 melees and 1 ranged attack at 2 speed with 3 armour and 8 health along with a double strike ability. The double strike ability enables him to attack 2 times back to back in every round, which means it will launch a total of 4 attacks onto enemy cards.

Silver

At level 2, this card’s attack power even gets increased more with 2 melees and 2 ranged attacks at 2 speed with 3 armour and 7 health and it also gets a new ability to shatter. With the shatter ability, it will break the targeted monster’s armour no matter how big it is.

Gold

When you upgrade this card to the next level, this card gets 2 melees and 2 ranged attacks at 2 speeds with 3 armour and 8 health and it also gets a new ability - Cripple. With this new ability, whenever this monster hits an enemy card, that card will lose 1 max health.

Diamond / Champion

When being upgraded to the max level 4, this card possesses 3 melees and 2 ranged attacks at 2 speeds with 3 armour and 8 health along with those 3 abilities that I mentioned above. With the increase in its melee attack power, this monster gets even more offensive at its max level and becomes an even better choice to be used in high mana limit matches.

Match Analysis

Battle Link

Well, it was a large 54 mana limit match that I got his time and only 3 splinters were allowed to choose from - Fire, Water and Dragon and it also came with 3 different rulesets - Going to Distance (only ranged monster can be used), Up to Eleven (All monsters get the Amplify ability) and Silence Summoners (Summoner buffs and debuffs will be useless in this match). After thinking a little, I finally decided to choose the Dragon summoner Quix the Devious and choose Water Splinter along with it. At the front place of my lineup, I chose the Wave Brood followed by the Cornealus, Supply Runner, Drybone Raider, Tower Griffin and Swamp Spitter at the end of the lineup.

As the match was revealed, I found out that my opponent also used the same Quix summoner but he chose Fire Splinter with his summoner. As for his lineup, he chose the Zyvax Vuul at this first position followed by Drybone Raider, Lava Launcher, Ash Mirage, Supply Runner and Countess Sinash at the last position of his lineup. As the match started, at the first round I took his Sinash down with the help of the Return fire ability of my brood and Cornelius. Next, my brood got brutally attacked by the enemy cards but right after that, my dry bone attacked and killed down the enemy wounded Vuul and also attacked the enemy raider thanks to its double strike ability.

At the second round, my wave brood died but also took down the enemy supply runner with it after applying return fire damage again. My monsters then attacked greatly and killed down the enemy raider and then my raider attacked two times back to back again onto the enemy Lava Launcher and also reduced its total health and broke down its armour with the help of its abilities. The launched then attacked my Cornealus but got dead with its return fire and the only monster left on the enemy side was the ash mirage which also got taken care of easily by my tower griffin in the next round.

Though I only have a level 3 Drybone Raider right now, as you can see, it worked great in my battle above and with its double strike, cripple and Shatter ability, it weakens those monsters and made them easier to kill. I hope to upgrade my raider to max level eagerly and I only need another 1 BCX of this card only to make it max level, so wish the luck so that I can get it soon!
