Why I really liked the new proposal about Maverick Role in Splinterlands

What’s up my fellow Splinterlands players!

I am doing well and I hope you all have enjoyed a great weekend with your loved ones too. But do not forget to play this amazing game in the meantime and use your energy efficiently. Well, the time is passing faster than it should as we have already passed halfway through this ongoing season and only 6 days and 20 minutes left for the timer to hit the end, so battle well and collect as many daily focus and season chests as possible before this ranked season ends. Looking at my own progress, this season is going decently well for me and till now, I have collected 74 Diamond level season chests. As I quit playing in Champ and instead, battled for the top positions in Diamond for quite some time. I realized its easy for me to collect more season chests in total than in champ.

Last season, I collected around 100 diamond level season chests and got some good rewards from them so this season as well, I am trying my best to reach the same number. Looking at daily focus missions, I got the Exploits rule for the current focus mission and completed playing for today after collecting 16 reward chests, which will be claimable within the next hour. Anyways, with another 6 days left in hand, I think I can reach my season chest goal for this too, but for every next chest I have to collect more SP than the previous one and by the time I get above 80 chests, securing every next chest will be harder and harder. So wish me luck while I put all my energy into it.

Now, It was a hectic day for me yesterday, in fact past 3 days as I was participating the weekend thread battle on the leofinance website and the mission was to publish or comment on enough threads to lose the 4 boss lions 🦁 including taskmaster, amomadsoul and my God it was an insane level of competition going in there for these past 3 days. The total prize for this weekend's battle was 10k XP points which will be added to our total XP collection and the more XP we secure before the campaign ends, the better place we will secure in the leaderboard and will get a better chunk from the 10,000 USD prize pool. I was trying my best to win this weekend's battle to boost my leaderboard position as I joined late and was out of the top 50 positions.

But anyways, I still managed to find some time in between to play the tournaments and ranked in Splinterlands and today after taking a break when I again came to play, I saw a notification about a new proposal that got listed today. I felt curious and went to check for what it was about and found out that this was about a requirement change for the Maverick role in the official Splinterlands discord. After a quick read, I found out that the requirement to get the Maverick role in there has changed. Earlier in order to get this role and also to get access to chat in the maverick-only chat section, one has to buy minimum of 1000 packs from the official Splinterlands market but now they have decided to replace it with a new requirement and that is to have at least 100k staked SPS.

Well, I know it may be a hard requirement for some existing mavericks who don't have that many in staked amounts but if you as me, I was really happy to see this proposal. No, I don't have 100k staked SPS either but I am very close to achieving that with a current staked count of 79k + staled SPS in my account. I am playing this game for a long time now but I was never a pack opener guy. I set my own strategy to grow in Splinterlands and that is to buy max-level cards off the market one by one as I see them selling for a good price or the ones I feel to have right now to win more. I am following this step for years and thou for following this strategy I miss getting free airdrop cards, I just buy them later on when they sell for cheap and grow my battle power over time. In this way, I only invest in the cards I know will be beneficial for me on the battlefield and skip the ones that I don't feel strong enough. It also helps me to build a good playing collection with smaller investments whereas you have to spend thousands of dollars to buy enough packs to make your monster max level.

But anyways, other than not getting airdrop cards or those lucrative titles, I used to miss another big thing till now, which is to chat with fellow big players in Maverick chat. The chat room was only for those who have at least bought 1000 packs from the official Splinterlands shop. If you compare it with the chaos edition packs, in order to get eligible one had to spend 4000$ to buy 1000 packs (not taking in the discounts to keep it simple) which is certainly a big amount for me. But now, as they have come up with a proposal to change this requirement with 200k staked SPS, I can finally join the OG chat room if I manage to stake another 20k staked SPS into my account. I think it will definitely help others like me who don't own a whale amount of money but loves the game truly and want to be a part of the OG chat room and chat with the legends. With the recent announcement of replacing the collection power with staked SPS in the upcoming months as a requirement to play in ranked, many of us are already focusing on increasing their SPS stake, so they don't have to think differently for the maverick chat room as it will come along literally for free of cost. Also if you look at it, with the current price of SPS which is 0.021$ right now, it would cost only 2100$ to have a whole 100k SPS and that is almost half of the cost of buying 1000 packs. So, overall it is a win-win situation for me and I guess it's the same for many of you too! So I really like this proposal and voted for it already. The only task for me now is to fill my stack with another 20k as soon as possible and then claim what I wanted for a long time!
