Two Out Of Twelve Packs Turned Out Good Today

Greetings Fellow Splinterlands NFT Hodlers And Pack Crackers!

Since convincing me by rubbing my nose over previous doubts about the seriousness of this game as a business, I have been looking for opportunities to invest and reinvest some proverbial peanuts (cause that's what I have — proverbial peanuts, mostly) into Splinterlands assets.

Its economy is now complex enough to puzzle you and make you choose your options wisely, even given you're only in it and not spread too thin everywhere else.

You got the SPS (Splintershards) airdrop still going, and holding liquid DEC is a way to secure some of it. So are the cards in your collection as well.

There's the competitive play and rewards, which is the base of everything.

There is the voucher mining based on staked SPS, there's the SPS yield based on staked SPS, there's the rare cards airdrop chance...

There's rent.

Opening packs might not be the best thing to do right now but it sure is among the most fun aspects of the game.

Two things to consider here — what is the cost and what is the value.

But, well, there's value right now and there's value over time. And there's entertainment value.

Let's focus on it for a while. When you open a pack, you hope for rare stuff, where the Rare category does not count. By rare, we mean Epic, Legendary, Gold rarity and finish.

So, Pack Number One out of the twelve packs I opened today had it all...

A rare, an Epic, a Legendary, a Gold Common, a Common.

Then...ten "empty" packs followed in a row. It happens.

Pack Twelve was a bit of relief at the end, giving me a Summoner card and an Epic.

I am still hunting for those summoner cards so that I can level up some of the ones I play with. Otherwise, holding unopened packs provides 300 SPS drop point while opening those 12 packs I reduced the total quite a bit.

At the same time, I increased my Card Collection power a bit. Not enough to offset the above but still some move up the scale.

Far away from next league's threshold, yet. That would be Silver II in my case. Gold III would be a real change and it's way up the scale. For now.

Another scale that matters is the count of Packs Purchased.

Those 160 packs there would bring me about a 33% chance to get a free legendary next time the Total Packs Purchased rounds a Million corner at 8 000 000.

We're more than 200 000 packs away from that.

The one legendary I wanted to have out of those that come out as specials was...

Spirit Hoarder Owned.jpg
A good and rare card with a rare ability.

It fits perfectly any team where you have 3 mana still open at the end of your pre-match team building.

I did not get one (30 % chance was not enough), so I waited a bit and got one from the market at approximately the same price it currently has.

I think I shall now wait for a while without further moves other than turning some Hive into liquid DEC from time to time.

How do you fare in the Splinterlands somethingverse? Share in the comments ;)

Good Luck, Have Fun!
