No Ability Goes Unanswered - Splinterlands Balance

So you've learned all the abilities(or if you still need too learn them do so here)

but now what?

In the above graphic you'll see abilities that have the offense and then you'll see a connecting opposite or answer.

Armor to Rust
Armor grants +2 armor to all cards and Rust takes away armor of your opponents cards -2

Repair to Shatter
Shatter destroys armor from a monster completely, it can't come back. An opposite to Repair which recovers part of the card's armor that took the most damage

Void to Magic Reflect
Magic reflect is a major problem from your opponent when using cards with magic. Void can reduce any magic damage but it's useful to have it on a magic card because then the reflection damage won't be as bad

Strengthen to Weaken
Strengthen gives +1 life to all creatures for you while weaken does -1 life to all creatures of your opponent. Don't want to pay a penalty from your
opponents weaken then try using strengthen

Immunity to Poison
Poison is destructive when it's taking two damage from you each round.
An easy solution is using immunity because then your creature can't be
poisoned.

Healing to Affliction
Healing keeps your monsters alive but affliction interrupts healing making it not possible

Inspire to Demoralize
Inspire adds 1 melee damage to creatures and you guessed it, demoralize
takes one melee point away from your opponents cards

An opponents armor can be dealt with in two abilities

Piercing allows you to do the amount of damage an opponents armor has but then any extra damage left over is applied to the monster it is hitting

If a monster is hitting you with armor then thorns can take two off of that armor

Taunt to Scattershot

Taunt means that all targets that can target a monster will do so. It can be difficult to deal with that so scattershot allows you disregard a taunt. It will fire at a random enemy instead.

Triage to Snipe and Sneak
Triage heals the monster not in front that has taken the most damage so
it's useful in healing attacks from sneak and snipe

Lastly, completing our discussion of the graphic, a great defense against
sneak is thorns because every time a pesky monster reaches for your backline he gets a 2 damage thorn put in him!

The point of the discussion is that we must know how the abilities relate to each other and see deeply through their balance. Hope this helps your game!

Great instructional. The game could use a ton of these - maybe even with battle link examples included for showcasing.

Awsome graph!

However, i think the counter parts are "too balanced".

For exaple, when i tried to counter magic players i won "only" around 60% of the battles where i countered correctly, i simply still lost because they had lvled up their specific monsters line-up. But my win rate was around 50% because people with 5 magic games, suddenly seems to have switched to melee (without special ruleset!?). Very frustrating!

Then i played my own line-up, improved my skill with that specefic line-up and lvled the monsters, my win rate shot-up!

Now im a low league player, do you think this is different at higher leagues?

Thanks for interacting with the post! I feel leveled up cards give a tremendous advantage. Not having a card or facing higher level cards is very frustrating. In higher leagues you'll see higher level cards and of course that brings changes to the abilities. It's kind of a whole new world and very fun.
