It came to be that the Colosseum was made anew from any decay or changing of hands since the Romans. Free men now fought in competition there, but some still waived the old flag of gladiators. The spirit of economic freedom was the new burning mission of a fighter, not like the days of old , where enough victories could win you your physical freedom.

Many were happy with the prizes of victory and gifts from the angels for a long time. But something foul and despised crept in. It began with just a smell, a passing odor that stopped you in your tracks, and curiosity made you pause. Then the first visible signs started. A green ooze and liquid dripped from a door handle. A large swathe of black clothing was found in the halls and the smell was so terrible that even when placed in a chest the entire room took a day before it cleared out.

Other strange signs emerged as well with small pouches of dec left abandoned in the halls often spilled. Cards with pictures were found and the wizards made their guesses that it was a form of tarot. The fighters started noticing that their chests of dec were coming up short and one even found himself completely robbed.

No longer feeling that they could stay hidden and keep doing their dirty work, the most evil team emerged on the Colosseum's battle grounds. Right when someone was receiving their tournament rewards and gifts from the angels, flowing black robes with a beak of a mask, darted in and stole the treasure. It was Dr. Blight and the crowd hushed. Part of the treasure fell before he could exit and a sneaky goblin emerged to grab the rest. The crowd was hushed again, before it broke into anger and shouting. After days, then weeks of searching for the duo in the colosseum people gave up thinking magic was at hand. Dr. Blight and his goblin are endured to this day.
