Splinterlands Amazing Battles – If you're in control, you're not going fast enough!

Welcome Splinter's people to another fantastic battle of our most loved and best crypto fantasy game!

Rule Sets (Modern Format): Close Range + Are you not entertained?” + 58 Mana Cap and only Life and Death not available.

About my Lineup/Strategy

Conqueror Jacek (Summoner): the +2 Speed with Piercing turns him into a really strong summoner in rulesets like Fog of War, Explosive Weaponry and Close Range.

Arkemis The Bear: great main tank to increase the survivability of the backline with Protect and counter the 1st position with Halving.

Ash Mirage: I was expecting to face some ranged monsters or even Yodin, so I picked Ash Mirage due to his abilities Headwinds + Reflection Shield.

Molten Ash Golem: great card to tank once the main tank is gone, so the damage dealers gain some extra time.

Countess Sinash + Supply Runner: if +2 Speed from Jacek is not enough, let’s add +2 to be sure that they are fast enough xD. Besides that Scattershot + Blast it is very powerful.

Djinn Inferni: in high mana battles it is almost certain to face giant monsters (+10 Mana), so Giant Killer and Stun are very useful!

The Battle

Round 1

As expected, we had a great start attacking before my opponent’s monsters could do anything, Countess killed Katrelba in one hit and Arkemis The Bear neutralized Grund reducing his attack power to 1!

On the other hand my monsters didn’t do much harm to mine, Arkemis The Bear absorbed all of the damage and dodged some of the attacks.

Round 2

My monsters kept the carnage and took down Princess Khmer as well, unfortunately Djinn Inferni hit twice (1st and 2nd round) on Slipspawn with Forcefield dealing only one damage.

Not really a problem, since I already had a huge advantage at this point.

Round 3

In this round Grund and Runemancer Florre was killed leaving no chance to my opponent.

Conclusion

My opponent’s strategy relies on Taunt + Triage, however, Scattershot counters Taunt perfectly! So, his support and damage dealers was killed too quickly by Blast/Scattershot.

Besides that, the lack of his speed compared to my monsters was another crucial key, not allowing them to attack or heal the backline and also missing valuable attacks.
