Splinterlands Fan-Art : Helheim Demon.

Hello Everyone

How are you?

I hope you're doing well and leading a sound life. I bring you another one of my artwork today. This one is also a digital drawing fan art of a monster of Splinterlands. I drew this one to participate in the weekly art contest arranged by @splinterlands. I'll add the link to the contest at the end. Check it out if you feel interested. I'll be sharing my drawing process in this post, about my tools and how I drew a fan art version of the original card that is quite different from the original. I hope you like my version.

The monster I drew today is named Helheim Demon. I used my laptop, graphics tablet, stylus drawing touch pen, and a drawing software named ibis Paint. I'll attach my drawing and the original image below and you can check it out. I'll also add the link to the contest at the end of my post. So, let's get started:-

My Drawing

To draw this one, I took a different initiative this time. I normally draw the basic lines for the structure of the drawing and then perfect those lines and make them bold. And after that, I start adding colour layers. I do all the detailing part in the beginning while drawing the sketch. But, for this one, I just drew the theme of the sketch and then started to add colours to it.

I began the process by adding the primary colour to the figure first and then added some white strokes on the muscles. These strokes will help in my next steps.

Then I used lighter colors with a smooth brush and a spray brush tool to draw the details. I'm happy that I was able to pull out my strategy of drawing the details without any sketch. As you can see after adding those colour layers, his body shape, muscles and curves are fully visible now. I also drew his eyes and horns too. And as the theme suggests, he is a monster from Helheim made with fire and that's why I drew his eyes as such that it looks like his eyes are glowing with fire and rage.

Abd after that, I completed the drawing of her facial area. I enhanced the shades and the curves of his face and drew his teeth too. After that, I focused on the body part and enhanced the curves of his muscles and the shades too. After I was done with drawing the body part and the details, I focused on the side parts of the main drawing such as his wings. I also added some fire details to represent the theme fully.

The sign on his chest represents his power source of fire and the fireball on his hand represents his magic-attacking ability. I tried to match the theme of the main monster and I believe I was able to get there. Now, all that is left is some final touches and a fire-themed background.

Final Image

Here's the final image with the added background. I also added some more details to the fireball on his hand. I didn't draw the background personally. As I mentioned, I use software called ibis Paint to draw these drawings and that app has some built-in copyright-free background options. The background is taken from there.
