Splinterlands Fan-Art: WATER CALLER. Weekly Art Contest.

Hello friends.

How are you today?

I'm back again to share my artwork with you. Today, I've brought another one of my artworks to share with you. I drew a fan-art drawing of a SPLINTERLANDS monster to participate in the weekly art contest arranged by @splinterlands. The name of this monster is Water Caller. I used my coloured pencils, watercolour and other necessary tools this time. You can also join the contest if you feel interested, I'll put the link to this week's contest at the end.

  • As a fan-art drawing, I've drawn the image with my imagination and in a new look. I took inspiration from some previous contestants and tried to create my version of the card. I'll share both the original and my edition below so it's easy for you to understand and compare. I'll also include the steps of my drawing and explain them. Let's begin:-

Tools:

  • A4-sized offset paper.
  • 2B pencil.
  • 4B pencil.
  • Colored Pencils.
  • Watercolor.

My Drawing Steps:

  • At first I sketched the frame/structure of my drawing. Using a 2B pencil. I started with the character's face while I completed the drawing of her eyes too. I wanted the character to make it as simple as possible while giving her a cute look too. I was sure to keep that cute vibe with her beauty and tried to make her eyes as much attractive as possible. To draw her face tone I used my watercolour and brushes as you can see in the image. I use both watercolour and coloured pencils in my drawings. Because pencil helps me to visualize the sharp details and watercolour helps me to give my character's skin or body parts a smooth texture. And to draw the eyebrows I used my 4B pencil.

  • I drew the hairs completely using my coloured pencils. I gave her hair a gold-brown colour. I hope this colour suits her. To bring out a fine outcome I drew her hair in three steps by layering them on each other.

  • In this step, I started drawing her skin tone and her dress. To draw her skin I used my watercolour tools because they can give the skin tone a smooth texture. And to draw her dress I used my coloured pencils. First of all, I drew a border with my coloured pencil to keep the lines straight and also used coloured pencils to draw the shades and curves on her skin. I completed the full dress using coloured pencils.
