The Beautiful River Nymph Showcasing its Powers

Hello There
You're reading ML-Blog

Recently, it's more like a week without splinterlands is no longer possible. What can I say? It's such an amazing game, even a bit addictive. Personally, I like the monster chosen as this week's theme. what a pretty monster! River Nymph, looking so soft and lovely, yet a great battle monster. From the appearance of River Nymph, it's probably an elf. If you'd love to join me in creating a post for this beautiful monster, kindly navigate to the announcement post published in the splinterlands community

River Nymph:

The beautiful elf monster River Nymph belongs to the water element. Nymph is a magic attack monster with a number of magic damage depending on the particular level. These numbers will be shown later in the stats discussion of this monster. According to the description in the lore tab found on the splinterlands site, they portray this monster as a respecter of life which is very protective of its home, and will not hesitate to defend it if threatened. However, they don't like being seen due to their shy and reclusive nature. This shyness causes them to hide beneath the water's surface. You can get more knowledge about this in the lore tab on the spt website

River Nymph Stats

The above is an image representation of River Nymph stats. Numerically, everything that is found and done by this monster is shown. The rate at which those things are done is also shown. The Lvl and Est. power sections might differ in a gold foil card and that of a regular card, but they all do the same thing at any given level.

The abilities of this monster are actually too important to overlook. It has three abilities which are Cleanse, Amplify, and Swiftness. These three abilities are too crucial in some particular game set rules. For example, the cleanse ability can be considered a must-have when engaging in a battle with the game-set rule being poison. This ability removes the negative effect on the front-row monster, which in the case of poison will save that particular monster from being affected by poison

The second ability is very important in a battle involving, magic reflect, return fire, and thorns. As the name implies, it amplifies the aforementioned damage and doubles it on the enemy's monster.

The third ability known as swiftness increases the speed of all friendly monsters, which is also important because unless in a game set rule that moves against speed, speed itself matters a lot on the battlefield.

Battle Link

The presented battle is between the earth and the water element with six monsters on each side. The water side came out victorious in the battle that took a five-round turn.

Team Formation

ALRIC_STORMBRINGER

DJINN_OSHANNUSRUNEMANCER_KYERIVER_HELLONDALE
RIVER_NYMPH WATER_CALLER !MEDUSA

The summoner Alric Stormbringer is good for a magic-intended battle. Obviously, the entire battle involve magic monsters, and no other summoner among the water element would have been better. Alric gave plus one magic damage to all friendly monsters.

Djinn Oshannus is a good defender when thinking of going against magic monsters. Djinn possesses an anti-magic ability known as void. This ability reduces the magic damage of attacking monsters. For example, when a monster with two magic damage attacks it, only one of the two will be effective. Djinn also has the phase ability which can cause fellow magic monsters to miss it when targeted.

Runemancer Kye is known for her armor and health, and also an ability can keep increasing that health each time it damages the enemy's monster. The life leech ability makes Kye a bigger threat in every battle, and battling in a game with a set rule of equal opportunity, means this monster will probably be among the last to be targeted. Being last to be targeted means its life much have increased further before then.

River Hellondale in this battle was equally important as others. Although in such battle set rule it will be easily targeted, but in a case another monster gets eliminated first, its resurrect ability will help restore the eliminated monster. unfortunately, here in this battle, the ability didn't work because this monster was the first to be eliminated.

Water & Medusa had almost the same role. they both have the stun ability which could be a perfect tool to displace the opponent's monster and deny them of their turns.

Battle Commentary

The Earth element went against the water element in this battle with the game rule set at equal opportunity. The summoner on both sides has the ability to enhance magic which was the first benefit in the battle. It was hard protecting the monster that made this week's theme because the opportunity ability always finds the weakest monster on the field. Having started with my side taking the first hit, the water element was able to round up the battle in the fifth round with two monsters left.

After the first round, two monsters were eliminated from each side. The second round saw the elimination of an extra one monster from each side which left the battlefield with six monsters, three from each side. In the third round, the enemy's side lost a monster which kept their numbers at two and mine at three. After round four, the enemy had just one monster and my side had two. These two monsters from the water side went ahead to eliminate the last monster from the earth side in the last round.

My Strategy & Its Effectiveness

The both side based their strategy on magic but I guess I had the stronger monsters to have come out successful. It is always hard when it comes to playing in a game set rule that has to do with opportunity. Monsters with lower health are at early risk which is why it's better to go for monsters with a high health number. I may not have the best in terms of health but I did have better firepower.

What can I say about River Nymph?

I have already written about this monster above and to be sincere, this is a great monster for battles.
