In Game Trade, Sell and Buy Upgrades

Recent articles from Splinterlands listing new user interface on the sell and buy of in game items had me test run if it was any good.

By default users can not receive trades until they turn on allow trade offers. So just by that non-active players are off the trade list. That is a large portion of players not having opportunity to trade. On top of that if players skip the news or not knowing that this trading hall exists then those would also not be able to use this feature.

Then there is a 10 DEC fee for any offer post to only players that have set their allow trade offers on. I assume this is a way for DEC to be burned to try and reduce the overall amount being circulating. It is more costly for smaller players since fees adds up, which leads me to believe not many offers will be posted. On the flip side the market would not be overwhelmed with large amount of offers since there is a fee attached.

On the positives it appears players can trade all kinds of items freely with this portal. This includes titles, packs, skins, in addition to cards and plots. What will be challenging is players not being able to post offers directly until others have activated their allow trade offers so in practice if I see something I like to have and want to trade I do not necessarily get to convey that to the other user quite easily. I would think this is an easy fix as developers can change allow trade offers to be defaulted to on so players once enter the game could see offers if they have such. They can always decline the offers or make a counter offer.
