Splinterlands - How are Chaos Cards Prices?

Its been a while since I talked about how much a max Chaos set of cards is valued at. With 7 air drops already taken place and over 3.34 million packs opened one would believe prices of cards would have drop quite a bit. In reality it maybe different.

Chaos Max Level Cards Net Total Price

With the current cryptocurrency market trending slightly bearish it is difficult to see assets related to crypto hold up in value. This includes Splinterlands cards, but Chaos cards as a whole is holding up pretty well. Currently a full Chaos max level set of cards will cost $8,255. Not bad but it did not change much for over a month. In fact even with additional cards added to the collection it has slightly risen.

A breakdown of the different rarity sets in Chaos and their current prices to obtain max set courtesy of splintercards.com. Legendary cards hold the most value even though it has the least amount of cards per total bcx. Dive a little deeper to notice 3 out of 8 top cards in price are legendary while the remaining are the rare summoners.

One legendary card alone at max is over $1,000, Dr. Blight. This is 1/8th of the entire Chaos max level set.

Chaos Price Predictions

The last I looked for a max Chaos set it was nearly $10k but now its slightly lower. The increase in card supplies to essentially up to 15 million packs has not reduced card prices much. Yet not all the packs were sold and slightly less than half of all that packs that have sold are opened. This is limiting the cards in circulation.

Assuming active players would be the ones interested in getting more cards.

With a little over 360k daily active users it is not as much as I would have thought. This maybe a good sign for those waiting for further price card drop. With a little over 2,000 daily signups it won't help the supply though. Its difficult to predict how the next few weeks to months will happen in Chao cards. Currently a lot of the cards are still being sold at as 1 bcx. I would imagine down the road more stacked cards will come out and that will lower the overall cost of the cards. This is because in general leveled up cards have higher over all prices but lower price per bcx.

Conclusions

I will end the post with what maybe something readers can do now considering on how to increase deck competitiveness. Over the course of the Chaos rewards cards distribution the prices of the set is has fallen somewhat. For a very reasonable $487 one can have a full set of the Chaos max level reward cards. Now there are no summoners in the set so probably why its cost has drop, but it is worth noting a good investment as over the years I have seen cards appreciate in value more likely than not.

With the Chaos rewards increasing in supply while prices actually dropping to new lows I am hopefully that Chaos pack cards will do the same down the road. Yet I will be prepared if that is not the case and Chaos cards remain the same as where they are now or go higher by slowly purchasing cards to level up as I progress.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

I've started splinterlands after the chaos go-live. So your predictions is very helpful.
Basically I understand Chaos card's price will be droped due to the inclease of the supply. But I couldn't wait to purchase because most of the cards are very attractive. Now I just hope Chaos card's price will be higher in the future same as alpha cards.

I think in the long run the card prices will rise. The question is will we be willing to hold on to the cards for many years. I can vouch for holding onto alpha for a better part of almost three years before I saw real price rises. All the while there were many other blockchains soaring and I was heavily vested in only Splinterlands. It still ended up good for me as I am in the green. Best of luck to you in Splinterlands. !LUV !PIZZA !LOL

On the long run, when we close to the land expansion, the price will increase. I try to get as many cards as possible, as the rental prices will go crazy in the future.

Thank you for the analysis.
