Splinterlands - Investing SPS ROI in March 2022
Looking a current SPS prices I wanted to take a look if it was a reasonable return if I currently started to invest into the token. The price of SPS at a little over $0.11 each have a staked ROI APR at 29.13%.
Besides earning more SPS for staking we can also earn vouchers.
At a little over 15,000 SPS staked it will earn me 1 voucher a day. The vouchers prices are falling but been steady at a little over 1.1 Hive.
I then wonder how much vouchers would I need to earn if I staked SPS for a year.
Around 2,000 Hive to earn 1 Hive a day ballpark based on staking SPS. 0.05% a day or 18.25% a year. This is assuming prices of vouchers remain the same throughout the year. That is actually better rate than investing in Hive itself just on earning vouchers alone.
Conclusions
Just vouchers earned alone has better APR than staking Hive to Hive Power. However this is assuming curation rewards with the use of Hive Power is around 10% as there are curators out there yielding more. Yet vouchers if price was fixed yields over 18% in a year beating out Hive Power.
On top vouchers are the staked SPS yielding close to 30% over a year. This single stake asset yielding more of the same asset can be think of as compounding if I collect daily my rewards and stake.
To end there is another additional opportunity we get to earn more SPS. With liquidity pools such as DEC : SPS we can earn 2 collection points for each DEC in the pool we farm. The other half is using SPS, but that means we can't earn SPS APR in staked pool.

Now I am pretty confused between HBD savings and SPS staking 😹 noice post mawit
I was just thinking of powering down some hp to buy more sps but you are right too. Hbd not really pegged to $1 right now so could be better invested in sps. I forgot to mention in the post 4 weeks time for stake sps to fully withdraw. Still a lot better than hp power down.
