Splinterlands - Is It Worth Playing In Gold League?

avatar
(Edited)

I have been playing daily and most days within Gold II and Gold I league. The plan has been to continue growing my deck so that I can rise toward higher league not only in wild but also modern. For now I remain in wild only as I still am missing a large amount of Chaos cards. I hope to transition into modern when I have enough Chaos cards.

Anyway's today's post is to look at my current Splinterlands daily rewards to see if it was worth investing in new Chaos cards I had recently purchased. For those who do not follow my posts or have forgotten I have now spent over $300 in new Chaos cards over the past month in hopes to allow my to perform better and earn more rewards. Lets see what I have earned in the past week.

Straight out of Splintershare.info

Reminder I earned my focus chests around Gold II and Gold I daily and looking at the past eight days only three broke over $0.10 in daily rewards. Not one day did I earn more than $1. This is somewhat disappointing since most nights it appears I have a good sum of reward cards, but the cards themselves apparently cost next to nothing at 1 bcx.

Is Gold League Good?

As we play and earn at higher leagues we tend to earn more in rewards. Being in Gold at the very least a battle won I can still earn close to 1 sps. Yet comparing bronze league specifically it would take more than a handful of wins just to yield a fraction of sps. Not as bad but similar is silver league. All in all I like the gold league, but am still hoping to go higher leagues as I feel the potential to earn even more rewards go exponentially.

What Is My Plan To Earn More?

I have heard players in champion are pulling large sums of SPS and each battle win has a decent amount of SPS. My intention is to reach that far someday and therefore will continue investing in Chaos cards to fill up my collection.

I am now close to hitting diamond and look forward doing so while hopefully earn more SPS per win. If daily focus rewards would also fall under diamond league it would be icing on the cake.

Conclusions

A chaos set continues to rise as now it is close to hitting $6k for the full set. If we consider how there are still a few more air drops it only appears that the set will likely exceed $6k. I am afraid of missing out on obtaining as much Chaos cards as I can under these prices, therefore remain steadfast on buying cards with my earned winnings.

It is clear the winnings are not a lot so it means I have been unable to add a lot of cards. Instead I have been relying more on my rental income and my Hive post rewards. I need all the liquidity I can get my hands on now since I am not the only one noticing card prices are on the rise.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

Just got into gold myself and I have to say for the most part the rewards almost seem less than that of silver in terms of the number of chests I could get and the potential amount of cards. My hopes are to get back into diamond here soon either this season or next and start seeing if Diamond has a major kick up and worth it. Silver to gold there's not much there

I started this season in gold so could not compare but I feel at minimum I am pulling more SPS in gold than silver. Still overall rewards total in $ value definitely leaves room for improvement. !PIZZA !LOL

If you ask me, the Gold league turned most competitive than ever as most of the players grind in this league.
The rewards are somewhat average. Someday your luck kicks in and you get a pack, a gold card, or a bunch of rare and epic cards, or a good amount of SPS.
But most days the rewards are pale and filled non-attractive 'Pelacor' reward cards and potions.

I'm paying $1.3 per day in renting cards to grind in the Gold league, still, my winning ratio is 1 in 2/3/4, and earning only a fraction of my spending.

Anyway, thanks for the post.

I agree with you Gold league rewards are so so. To put it frankly its subpar. That is why I want to get into Diamond as soon as possible and think I have to invest a lot more into new Chaos cards to reach there. !PIZZA !WINE

I just decided a few days ago to move up to gold. My deck is more built for silver so I went from 15 chests per day in silver to 8 per day in gold. It's only been 2 days but yesterday I made $0.11 and today I made $1.75. If I had to guess based on my current limited data I'd say I probably made just as much in silver as I now am in gold.

I haven't really noticed prices in CL cards going up. If anything many of them are down from what they were a month or two ago. It seems like if you took out the recent two aridrops, prices to max a deck would be down overall. Also, over 8 million packs remain either unpurchased or just unopened. Who knows what happens next in Splinterlands but with over half the packs left to open its more likely the existing cards keep going down in price for a bit.

The silver to gold don't really get much more in focus chest rewards when caring about total value. I totally agree with this assessment. I have been watching market prices on cards like a hawk and will say this, trying to buy a high level chaos card at the lowest bcx is difficult since they get picked up almost in a day or two. The demand is there and on a whole prices do not appear to be sliding down, at best flat line. Maybe the new Rift-watchers will help with prices getting lower? !LOL !PIZZA

Yes, it's important to buy as many cards as possible now, so you don't regret it in a year. 😅 !LOLZ

It's been tough and I noticed that I won't really get above $1 unless I get lucky (legendary or chaos legion pack). I kind of prefer to stay in Silver to get a few more chests but I am not sure if it really helps that much. However, I lose out on some of the potions you earn though.

Luck definitely plays a role in this. I have been stacking my potions but should be trying to offer a potion service to get some liquidity. Just stashing away the potions not knowing if I am ever going to use them is not ideal. !WINE !PIZZA !LOL
