Splinterlands - Most Affordable Summoners?

Pictures are worth a thousand words but in Splinterlands the summoners you should be looking at are the Chaos Legions rare summoners. They are the most affordable in terms of utility and cost. In this post we will look as to why that is the case.

Best Summoners?

Best summoners of course would be the legendaries however not all legendaries are equals. We have the Untamed series that is out of print and each 1 bcx is worth as low as $60 or as high as $600. The wide price range is proof that not all legendary summoners are equals. Why are they the best? The most amount of legendary summoners in circulation and the most used in battles such as the Yodin Zaku, Byzantine Kitty, and Scarred Llama Mage. No other way to explain them. Players who play enough understand this.

I am not discussing the beta legendary summoners in too much detail, but would say that they by themselves are in a unique group that can be considered very useful in their own rights. Yet quantities of beta legendary summoners are much less than Untamed, and in turn we are likely not going to encounter Beta summoners as much as the Untamed legendaries.

3 and 4 mana Summoners

There are plenty of 3 mana rare summoners. From the beginning alpha/beta series, and the Untamed. Now Chaos there has been a set of rare summoners but at 4 mana. Why this distinction is important is due in part that with 4 mana the abilities on the Chaos summoners are either unique for its splinter or there are multiple abilities.

The max level alpha and beta rare summoners are at their own right very limited. Much like legendary summoners. However the Untamed rares have a bit more in quantities. The additional quantities does not make the Untamed rare summoners that much worse when compared to older summoners. Yet the price for the cards per bcx is more than that of Chaos. This is mainly due in part that Untamed is out of print so there is still limited Untamed rare summoners while Chaos continues to grow in quantities.

Quantities Don't Always Hurt Quality

With Chaos still in print and people can purchase packs that would potentially pull rare summoners it is easy to predict that at the end of Chaos pack sales there will be more rare Chaos summoners than any other series that has come before them. Yet this does not take away the utility of the Chaos rare summoners. In fact players should focus on obtaining max level of these Chaos rare summoners now more than ever before.

Tarsa is a standout in the Chaos collection. Although 4 mana it has both boost melee and boost health. These stats exceeds that of alpha/beta's Malric Inferno which is a 3 mana summoner.

A water summoner with boost in speed and toughness. Such a combo leads to teams that are fast and can easily avoid attacks while also sustain heavier damage than normal. Although not anywhere compare to the beloved Alric Stormbringer, it creates a different set of abilities to focus in water splinter when using Kelya Frendul.

With magic boost the Obsidian may level the playing field when it comes to water splinter being aggressively magical. The earth splinter can now combine multiple magic monsters to be led by Obsidian which then makes for a pretty good neck to neck magic to magic with water splinter.

Death splinter has always be unique in abilities and play. Introducing Thaddius Brood had made the splinter remain the same where it uniquely fits into battles where reducing magic and health would be a benefit to the card owner.

We round out the Chaos rare summoners with life splinter's General Sloan. The summoner boosts range attack and interestingly life splinter tends to have some of the best range monsters in Wind Elemental and Peacebringer.

The cost of these Chaos summoners per 1 bcx is the lowest for all current active summoners. This is advantageous for those who need to level up or even simply just owning summoners. Will these summoners allow players to reach their fullest potential in the game? Likely not just alone by themselves as their are strategies and combinations with monster cards that can leverage these summoners in so many ways.

However out of all the current summoners around these are likely the best bang for the buck. I personally will be focusing on leveling my Chao rare summoners all the while trying to also add Chaos monsters into my collection. The intent for all of us is to make the best of what we got. If the Chaos summoners are worthy to play in battle even though it cost the least why would we select otherwise?
