Splinterlands - My Experience With Novice and Bronze League

Never would I imagine I would get humbled in the novice and bronze league but as of right now that is the case. Let me explain what happened. In the past seasons I had been playing around silver and gold league for many weeks. By the end of each season I usually end in gold II or gold I. When the new season begins the rank resets puts me down to silver I or silver II.

However this past season I took a slightly different route. Instead of playing to reach gold I I rented out most of my cards and end the season at silver I. When I had my rank reset I was in bronze and my nightmare began. I struggled to compete against players who were familiar with level 1 summoners and monsters. Most matches down at novice and bronze were low mana and no skill sets. This limited my choice of card selections and further more hinder my chances of beating my opponents even with higher level cards since the league rules limits how high my monsters are set in battles. End result is a whole lot of days struggling to get out of bronze.

Burning my ECR % while earning absolutely zero DEC per a win I am basically earning nothing for in play 2 earn for the past four days since the new season begun. In addition I am still within the bronze I league hence will take me more battles just to dig myself back into silver. This is an experiment I do not want to try again. Long days of trying to earn more through renting is over. I do not want to see bronze league again. Not to say its a bad place to be but having played for years its is really leaving a mark on my self-esteem. Bronze league has its own set of skills but I prefer higher leagues as there is more to play for and my deck is designed to compete in those leagues.

Recommendations in Bronze Leagues

Since I had spent several days in novice and bronze league I found a few things that may need some adjustment or reconfiguration in order to keep players interested when it comes to sticking to Splinterlands. As I believe on boarding players is difficult in itself it is even more difficult to keep players interested in playing whether they are heavily invested or just spellbook players.

DEC earnings are zero in novice and bronze I league. Recommendation then is that the ECR % does not get drain while players are in these leagues. Make no sense that the energy is used when there is no opportunity to earn DEC while playing in these leagues. By the time I get out of the league I maybe down to 60% making it another couple of days of waiting before I have efficiency in earning DEC in higher leagues. Note if I can get out of the bronze league lol.

Lets face it Splinterlands is now at a point in time where players need to invest in the game beyond the spell book to be competitive and earn real crypto. However I find that due to the limitations in bronze league it forces all players whether they have a few cards or a whole library to only be able to play cards at level 1. This limits the card's potential even if they are at higher levels. In turn I think a reasonable work around to give advantage to players who have invested more into the game whether by renting more cards or purchasing the cards that once the player's collection power reaches a certain threshold they should be allow to play matches where mana is closer to 99. That way players who invested can use their full range of cards even if they are at level 1 in order to have an advantage for their bigger investments.

How I Want This Season To End

If anyone reading this is wondering how much more I earned to get myself into this predicament I will confess a resounding 3k DEC more than prior seasons. Is the extra 3k DEC worth it? Hardly at all. Since I lack earnings in DEC with wins in rank battles and I earn basically nothing in daily quests. Those single chests per a day I am barely getting any rewards.

I can't even get a winning streak going as some level 1 matches are so close that I tend to lose them more than win. I will have to admit the novice and bronze league is not any thing to take light of. Main reason I want out is I am not earning anything down here. Again not trying to offend those who are in these ranks as you are some very good players ;)

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

good luck! it's such a different game when you get out of bronze, I just made it to silver with owned power (I don't like renting and make other people rich lol). but wow! In low bronze, with all splinters open and no rulesets, it's more like a guessing game, and yup, that sucks XD. In bronze 1, that gets better :)

There is easy way to get out from novice/bronze quickly but requires you to rent or own Llama Mage + Flesh Golem lvl 3 + Kron. Additionally having Yodin Zaku will even fasten this up. Cheers!

Wow, friend. Excellent post that makes Brain engine start working. It's something like football Cup tournaments where low-ranked teams can play with elite ones. And sometimes comes the surprise! Low-ranked leagues are close matches and most of the time won by details. By the way I am creating content trying to help new players with battle analysis and tips. I leave u my link in case u are interested in giving a helping hand https://www.splintertalk.io/@beffeater/the-mysterious-case-of-dr

The lower leagues are tough.
When I play them I keep forgetting cards abilities are not the same.

I agree with you, although I have yet to make it out of Bronze League. In fact the last reset I ended up a Novice again :-)

I could not agree more, it's really hard to push rank into silver or even bronze I, not getting any DEC when winning a game is disappointing, but I could keep pushing again, players here are awesome.
