Splinterlands - Opening A Gladius Case!

Today was the end of another guild brawl and the results for my guild were decent finish in 4th place.

With my guilds' buildings and specific levels we came out with 1,800 merits for each player. Unfortunately that amount is just short of 2,000 required to purchase a Gladius Case. Luckily I had some extra merits saved and would be able to purchase a Gladius Case.

Gladius Opening

Nice back cover for the cards. Drum roll please....

A decent pull with two rares as the standard is one. What is great about Gladius cards is the ability Bloodlust.

image.png

image.png

The Blood Lust ability states "Every time it defeats an opponent, it gets +1 to all stats." Also "In the Reverse Speed rule set, 1 to Speed."

The ability basically raises the monsters stats each time it defeats an enemy while nullifying the rule set reverse speed. What an amazing ability to have and only 32 cards in the game has such an ability. All cards being in the Gladius series.

Gladius Cards Limitations

image.png

For those who are unaware Gladius cards can only be used brawls. In addition in each battle there can only be one Gladius card in each formation.

The Gladius cards can only be held in the account they were reward to. They can not be sold, delegated, or rented out. The cards can only be used in brawls or be burn for dec.

If interested the dec burn rate of Gladius cards based on rarity and whether it is regular or gold foil.

regular, common 10 DEC
regular, rare 40 DEC
regular, epic 200 DEC
regular, legendary 1000 DEC
gold foil multiple regular rarity dec burn rate by 50.

Example gold, rare 40 DEC x 50 = 2,000 DEC

How to Buy Gladius Case?

image.png

A Gladius case can only be purchased by merits. Merits are only earned through brawls. Within the brawl players who participate in all battles to their specific frey will qualify at the end of each brawl a certain portion of Merits. The Merits are equally split among all members of the guild.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

Thanks for the explanation! I kept reading about Gladius cases, but wondered why I never came across them in my battles - it’s because they can only be used in brawls! Which I haven’t done yet.
