Splinterlands - Player's Total $ Value

avatar

My post from yesterday briefly covered the latest card addition to my collection. What I was not anticipating was how quickly multiple bcx cards through all series would gone from the market pretty much overnight! Chart above shows the pump in volume $USD spent on Oct. 21, which was second highest point for the most recent month.

I have been hoping to save some more $ by waiting to see if the card prices would fall further but instead now I am out of good deals to purchase. I will now have to wait for the next sale whenever it comes.

Player's Deck Net worth

Straight from Splinterlands there are currently a total of under 3% of players owning more than $1k in cards. This is kind of surprising to me considering there are over 100k active accounts but that maybe because a good portion of them are bot accounts.

In addition we do not know how many players are renting a significant amount of cards that would make the amount of accounts card net worth not as bad when it comes to cards distributions. Furthermore as we all know latest series of cards value are much lower than older versions therefore can easily distort the net worth of players. For instance a Chaos set is worth under $5k while an Untamed is at an earth shattering $30k.

For me I am currently sitting in the top 1% of players in cards net worth even though I don't feel rich lol.

Adjust Rewards Proposal #10

The bigger question is how will the latest proposal effect the game since majority of the cards are own by few players. Again this is not a full picture of the concern as there are some top holders renting out cards. In addition not all cards are equal in value and majority of players hold Chaos cards which is the lowest in cost compared to all series, besides rewards cards.

The reality is we do not know how this proposal will effect players and their future reward gains. On the other hand we can have an educated guess with current numbers that not many will be reaping in the rewards as multiple bcx cards becomes the norm. We just have to wait and see.

Until next time thanks for reading!!!

I think from the moment the proposal was announced, the idea that bots will take Reward Share hits is a good thing. I did however feel bad for skilled players who fought hard to get up the ranks with minimal decks. I was against the proposal simply because I still think it doesn't address the core issue for why the need to continually nerf rewards and it was counter productive to encouraging new players or low ranked players and because there are cards that are better served playing at low levels (Reverse speed rules) and Legendaries like Kron. Having said that I am willing to concede that the % hit for using a lvl 1 Kron in say Gold in theory should be mitigated by bigger rewards from the bot armies who will be nerfed for playing lvl 1 cards like Unicorn mustang.

I can certainly see it from both sides and believe only way to move forward is to try out the new proposal. Long before players could vote for proposals the game's developers implemented their own nerfs and revisions under the pretense it would benefit the game. I have yet to see a change they made that turn out to be so bad it ruined the game. Instead it took time to modify and develop into what it is today and I thing it can continue and have higher chances of success as more players have a say in what the direction to go. !LOL !PIZZA

I don't feel rich either but the disparity in requiring max level cards doesn't really work out. I have a feeling it will only pull away more players from the game because people just fight with the deck they have. Sure you can rent, but that kind of feeds the top players.

Older series cards are a lot more expensive and hence boosting some of the veteran card holder's total $ net worth. While others who only hold latest sets such as Chaos may actually have better cards but lower $ net worth. This is just one example of what there could be as to having the disparity in price may not be all that bad. !WINE !PIZZA

Thank you but I want to hit $100k again some time in the future. Card prices had been falling since last peak, but hoping next crypto bull run will propel the game again. !LOL !WINE

I use to be in the second highest tier but the market said, I don't think so back down you go. I agree that its hard to believe so little accounts have $1K+ worth of cards.

Like BTC and other chains that first started majority of the assets are held by a few but over time it is distributed to many more people. I hope Splinterlands would go on that path and end result is a better distribution of card ownership among all players. !LUV !WINE !PIZZA
