Splinterlands - Season Ending Rewards Worth It?

Another season is almost over as there is less than 12 hours to go. For those who are planning to rush through the final day of the season in hopes to reach higher league I would like to ask if it is worth it?

End Of Season Rewards

Over on splintercards.com there is a tabulation of the estimate chances for specific reward being pulled in chests. The higher the league the player ends up the more chests they are rewarded with. What maybe of some interest is that the odds of pulling specific rewards, especially the most lucrative ones such as cards and Chaos packs rises too with the higher leagues.

For instance between Silver 3 and Gold 3 the player would have 4 times as likely to pull a Chaos pack with Gold 3 versus Silver 3. The list goes on with higher chances of pulling better rewards with higher leagues.

Rental Market

The demand for season ending collection points remain high. For this latest season it is rivaling with all time highs of last season. Yet the price to rent out such collection points have steadily declined and it appears this season there will be another price drop.

Just from the rental market chart above it is clear that if one wanted to rent cards for collections points now is one of the best end of seasons to do so then ever before.

Estimated Price Per Season Reward Chest

As mentioned earlier the higher the ranking the better chances of pulling better rewards. With the better rewards there are estimated prices as to what can be earned. If we compare Silver 3 and Gold 3 again we can see the DEC price difference between the two are close to 20% higher for Gold 3. The thing to catch here is that this is all still estimates and results of rewards earned are still random. There is just a calculated estimate of the reward chest per league.

Conclusions

As of right now the cheapest rentals require around 1 DEC to rent out about 100 collection points. Given some ball park numbers between Silver 3 at 15,000 CP versus Gold 3 at 100,000 CP there is a difference of 75,000 CP. In order to rent that much CP one would need at minimum 750 DEC. In contrast there are 12 reward chests for Silver 3 and 22 for Gold 3 at EOS.

A quick arithmetic of Gold 3 reward chest estimated value:

10 x 45.2 DEC = 452 DEC in additional estimated rewards at Gold 3 compared to that of Silver 3.

The hidden value then would come in the form of actual cost for player to rent out CP as a few days prior to end of season I would assume the cards would be renting out much cheaper in the form of like 300 CP per DEC. It may likely that players who needed the most CP are spending less to rent than the estimate cost of additional rewards they are earning at EOS. The proof is that the rental demand for cards are near the highest ever so with high demand comes high amount of players in search of highest league they can afford.
