Splinterlands - Splinterforge!

For years we have been waiting for Splinterland's introduction to boss fights. For players to battle against bots but bots designed to by the developers themselves it was going to be with bosses. It would have been a fill in of matches for players who either got bored of rank battles or could not find enough real opponents to setup matches. Now I recently stumbled upon a third party team that has been hard at work on introducing boss fights and will be rolling out some form of gaming platform in the near future.

The website looks legit and there is an active Discord channel dedicated to the project. The developers and supporters are active daily on Discord. The project even hosted events in Splinterlands in the past weeks which I unfortunately neglected to notice.

All in all it appears the project is well established and now there is great news for newcomers because there is a pre-sale going on.

Pre-Sale 200k

According to the site there is 200k of alpha crates on sale now up until January 2. The pre-sale started just a few days ago so there is a month for newcomers to participate. Essentially the crates themselves consists of equipment that have rarities to be used in boss battles as suppliments toward the Splinterlands cards.

You read that correctly! The game will allow users to use their Splinterlands cards to play Splinter Forge. This essentially what many in the crypto space have longed for. Where players can bring their NFTs from one game and into another and so forth. The use of their Splinterlands NFTs are limitless. Now with Splinter Forge providing what I see as one of the first fully functioning games beyond Splinterlands it will be exciting to see how much players embrace the new project.

In regards to the purchase of crates we are able to purchase them in either DEC, SPS, Hive or the game's internal currency called Forge. I briefly looked through Hive-Engine and apparently Forge is selling for less than half the value of DEC, but in game Forge and DEC are worth the same. So for those interested in purchasing pre-sale packs in bulk it maybe wise to see if they can obtain Forge to make the purchases instead of in DEC. Each crate is 3000 DEC or 3000 Forge.

For 50 crates bought there is 100% certainty to earning an air drop equipment and bonus additional crates earned for buying at least 50 crates. There are thresholds for more bonus crates at 250 crates and 1000 crates purchases.

As of now there is only slightly over 7k crates purchased and with a little over three weeks to go it appears this is still somewhat hidden news for many who are active Splinterlands players.

Conclusions

I didn't get a chance to play the Beta version of the game nor have interacted a ton on Discord but first glance has me be a believer in Splinter Forge. The website is simple in design but great graphics. The items offered resembles a lot of what we have seen in Splinterlands.

Having lurked around their Discord channel for a day I have grown very fond of what the developers of the project has done. There is proof that the project has care and proof that it functions and active players participating. It maybe only my first couple of days ever seeing the project but you can bet I am a believer in it and will likely purchase a few crates in the current pre-sale.
