Heya Splinterlanders :)

We have to talk :). You should know, that I was quite hyped about the release of land expansion in the near future :). Of course not because I care about it :) I really hope to see some changes in the game, land is quite a big project that takes a lot of focus from the dev team. Unfortunately, we got some not-so-great news about downsizing the company, and one of the victims of that was, mentioned several times by me, Weird Beard. The guys had several interesting ideas, and now I really wonder what direction Splinterlands will go.
Another more personal victim of downsizing was Splinterlands.TV channel. I really enjoyed those 4 hours per week to have the opportunity to connect with great people and the community, we could discuss strategy, any news, changes, etc. I will try to still do similar content on my personal channel, for now I stick to the same hours, so the next Prediction Game should be on Wednesday 8:00 am UTC time on my twitch channel. (https://www.twitch.tv/maxmaka). I hope to see you there :).
Let's jump to today's ruleset.

Description:

Summoners do not give any buffs/debuffs or grant/use abilities.

Use your lowest cost and highest level summoner within this ruleset.

Firstly, the description of the ruleset in the game is not perfect, sometimes you get just general information which does not give you all the information you need. The best way to read the full description as above from the game documentation at least once. You can check all here.

I seriously encourage you guys to check this site, even more advanced players could find something interesting there.

Silenced Summoners is another straightforward ruleset when you just have one less decision to make. You just in the best case take dragon summoner - Kretch Tallevor would be the best here. Or if dragon is not available any low mana summoner. The rest of the strategy is almost the same, sometimes you need to use more support units to have the ability that was given by the summoner: for example, protect (additional armor), or speed buff/debuff. I don't think we can talk more about it, so let's jump to the battle.

Today's battle is a Silver Level Tournament match, where additional ruleset made quite an interesting outcome. Both line-ups look nice, so let's check the details:

image.png

I usually try to avoid playing Melee team with Super Sneak ruleset, because it could be quite easily countered. This time I took my chances, I took dragon summoner and a lot of powerful dragon melee units. Additionally, some protection on the back - shield ability is one of the best in that case, and we recently talked about Chaos Knight. Both players used Dryborne Raider, fortunately, mine is a higher level.
The opponent chose a mix of different types of damage, his backline isn't well protected, so it seemed that would be his weakness for this battle. We will analyze it deeper in the analysis section of course :).

image.png

Round 2, Chaos Knight even with shield ability wasn't enough to stop all opponent's physical damage. But as I mentioned his backline was quite fragile, and it was an easy target for our super sneak team. Unfortunately, we got a double miss with a very fast Supply Runner, sometimes luck is ... :)

image.png

Round 3, finally we managed to kill that annoying Supply Runner, Dryborne is a beast here, and both sides lost a few more units in that round. The cripple ability from the ruleset is quite deadly with any double striker, even with some armor protection it still decreases the HP and it's so much easier to kill units faster.

image.png

Final Blow - Round 3, it was a fast fight, a lot of damage dealers, and double strikers, it was just too much for the opponent's team, even the Protect ability from Arkemis the Bear wasn't too helpful.

image.png

image.png

As I mentioned I usually avoid playing melee units with Super Sneak, but this time opponent just totally ignored any defense for backline units. For all his lineup I think Arkemis the Bear could be a better choice as the last unit. I wonder if the opponent will use any good defender with shield ability so I can win the fight. Let's check our damage dealers:

image.png

image.png

DRYBONE RAIDER, 12 mana is a lot, but for any ruleset when you can utilize both type of attack Raider is just the beast. Additional shatter ability is great, when for the first hit it can just destroy whole armor and the rest of 3 attacks just demolish any units. Of course, you need to protect that unit, because it's not very resilient. And for this battle with the additional cripple ruleset any double striker is so powerful, but Dryborne is just a quadra striker so... ;)

image.png

CARNAGE TITAN another expensive units, but still for any higher mana match this is great unit. And of course, you can use it even in the battle when melee can be used without any specific ruleset as Reach unit. Carnage Titan is just a great damage dealer as a double striker. Additionally with so high armor is still quite a solid secondary tanker (hopefully with no shutter at the opponent's side :) ). On the higher level, it gets a shield - even better for a tank role.

image.png

DESERT DRAGON, is more specific unit. Piercing, trample ability, and very high damage make it a very powerful damage dealer. Of course, the cost is resilience, so that's why Desert Dragon is the much better option in the ruleset when it can attack outside the first position. On higher-level, he gets Giant Killer and becomes just deadly for any 10+ mana cost unit.

I don't think we need to discuss more about the Silence Summoner ruleset. It's nothing special, one thing you need to remember is to replace some of the important Summoner abilities with some support cards. Let's jump to more hotter topic:

This is a quote from some of my previous articles:

"And of course, cross the fingers guys to see Land 1.5 update as soon as we can :). And then let's let Weirdbeard out of the closet :D"

So now what? We lost Weirbeard, we lost Splinterlands.tv, but how about all those ideas which was presented by him and other content creator? Is there a chance to see something new in Splinterlands soon? For sure we need more play mode (draft?), new player experience, battle pass, some improvement in tournaments and brawls, and so many things, and does the company have enough people to implement any of that? What do you think?

I hope you like this kind of report, battle, and strategy presentation. More strategy analysis, discussion, and prediction games can be found on my Wednesday Twitch Channel stream. There will be a schedule soon :)

If you have any comments, please do not hesitate. Do you think I could improve anything just tell me :)

We continue our game from the previous week, today new battle, new card to win :).

I come up with some ideas, I hope you will like them and participate. Every week I will publish one battle, and your goal is to point out the first victim of the battle and who will be the winner. This game is exactly the same as my prediction game which I run on my Wednesday Splinterlands.tv stream. I know that not everyone can attend the stream, so I hope you will still have fun in that way. More about the rules can be read here.

Among all participants who get the correct answer, I will randomly (probably on my Wednesday stream) choose one winner.

The prize of the blog prediction game for the lucky winner will be the epic card:

Here we got the battle:

image.png

Game instruction:
Try to point out which monster will die first on the battlefield and who wins the battle

  • t - top player
  • b - bottom player
  • number - order counting from the first position

Examples:
t2b = monster on the second position of top player dies first, the bottom player wins
b6t = monster on the sixth position of bottom player dies first, the top player wins
t3t = monster on the third position of top player dies first, the top player wins

Hi Max. Nice use of double strike in your battle. As for the prediction game, I think you forgot to include the rulesets.

Thanks. I'll try to join if I can, but I'm a bit busy this week. My guess for the prediction is b1t.

It would also be nice if you can share the answer from the previous prediction game in the post, for those that weren't able to join the stream.
