Hey Splinterlanders :)

Finally, we got results from the championship battles from Splinterlands Madness Tournament organized by @hawks21. You can check the previous report here . It was the 2nd of April, yea, unfortunately, it took forever. I really would like to see some kind of different mode for tournaments implemented directly into the game. I had to rerent twice to play my matches there, and unfortunately every time I paid less attention to the cards I rented. Of course, it's not an excuse, for the top 4 I got really good opponents, but let's not get ahead of ourselves,

Here you can check full video coverage for both diamond and silver tournaments:

And here is the final matches:

As I mentioned in the first report post, tournaments got complex structures, if you need more information please go back to the previous post. Today we concentrate on our matches in the top 4 silver level tournament.

The Bracket looks like this:

We got a very nice road to the top 4, but now it's a real challenge. I think @mondroid name is known for every tournament player. He usually played lower-level tournaments at a very high level, but recently he jump higher. As you can check on the video he was able to reach top 4 in both the diamond and silver tournaments. It sure will not be an easy match for us :). We are playing best of 7.

First battle:

The first battle, I have to say I feel some excitement but at the same time, I was quite nervous. I saw the rulesets, and I thought about some melee team. And as I always mention in my Strategy Corner articles, you need to think 3 steps ahead of your opponent. Mondroid did it perfectly, with Mylor, healing ability for tank position, and forcefield to block my high melee damage (another type of damage was affected by scattershot so another way to survive more). Everything just worked perfectly together, even so small things like the range martyr unit which will kill by itself :). In one word: a masterpiece.

Score: 0-1.

Second battle:

The second battle, and Mylor for the second time. This time I saw Melee Mayhem, but I try to don't get into the trap. I try to use a mixed team, but the overall opponent team was just too strong. I was prepared for more like a sneak team, and even return fire from Ilthain was not enough versus almost range team from the opponent's side. His units were just too strong for us. Not a great beginning.

Score: 0-2.

Third battle:

The start was terrible, I had to win this one. Silent summoner, cripple, fog of war, an interesting combination. We both thought quite similarly, I resigned with the melee tank unit and put the more mixed type of damage. This time deciding factor was luck. Our team according to splintertools has around 75% chance to win this battle. We got some very unlucky misses, the opponent hit every time. And repair armor ability was the key later, leaving us with 3 losses in a row :(.

Score: 0-3 :(.

Fourth battle:

Unfortunately, I already felt powerless and resigned. The third battle was a nail in the coffin. When I saw the winrate probability and final score I felt really upset. It was not a good state to play the final match. Emotions are a very important factor for this kind of game, even in cases where the stake maybe is not so big, but we were fighting for prestige :). There is not much to talk about this battle, Lux Vega is just a very powerful summoner, and I got no armor protection. I got just annihilated here. End of the dreams :D

Score: 0-4.

Firstly I would like to thank my opponent @mondroid for a great match. I recently got a chance to get revenge with Diamond Open Tournament, which was created especially for @aftersound by @weirdbeard. I really would like to see more initiatives of this type, or maybe like regular open tournaments, maybe separate for experts and beginners.

Secondly, I would like to thank @hawks21 for organizing whole things. Yea, it took forever, for sure we need some improvements for indicative like this, maybe some in-game options, but for sure in my opinion, it's the right direction for the tournament scene.

Thirdly, I would like to congratulate the winners: the silver tournament: @daani and diamond tournament: @the-necromancer.

Last, but not least, we cannot forget about the sponsor: Immortal Creed project. I hope in the future there will be more sponsored tournaments where you can count on better prizes.

As I mentioned several times, I really hope to get some in-game implementation for a different mode of tournament play. The new mode - any limited, new types of tournaments, and crazy rewards :)

I hope we get to this point before everyone stops playing because of boredom and high repetitiveness.

The Splinterlands Madness tournament was great fun and impatiently waiting for more :D
