IIDRI FYRE | SPT Art Contest W 373

Hello, dear Hivers!
For this week's fan art, i chose this fire creature that really caught my attention. This time, the choice wasn't so quick; i had other creatures on my list to do, but in the end, i decided on this beautiful fire nymph.
IIDRI FYRE
Many seek the flame nymph known as Iidri, yet few find her. Those who do receive wisdom and guidance, passion and pleasure, an agony of flames and scars, or some combination of each.
As is typical of nymphs, it's pretty much a roll of the dice.
Deep within the mountain, a young, teary-eyed flame nymph burst into Iidri's abode. “My lady, we are under attack!”Splinterlands

Sketching

I went straight to my improvised table, grabbed my fan art sketchbook, and began to sketch and shape this beautiful creature. With a drawing pen, i outlined the entire silhouette to better guide me when adding the rest of the steps.
Sometimes in this step, i also like to add some dense shadows with the same ink, but i decided to keep it simple and continue with the base made with alcohol markers. Sometimes at this stage i also like to add some dense shadows with the same ink, but i decided to keep it simple and continue with the base made with alcohol markers.
Markers time

Normally when we draw, we can take many paths that lead us to the same place or obtain the same results, so to speak. I could directly use colors that are similar to those of the character in question without going through so many steps, but over the years i have noticed that when we use other base colors, this allows us to better highlight certain colors or mixtures... At least i don't like to go straight for the color i'm going to end up with in the drawing. This also allows us to improve textures, volume, and countless details that would otherwise look very flat, although this does not mean that a flatter style is incorrect or looks bad. At least i like to achieve it this way, even if it takes a little more time and sometimes a little frustration as well.

Coloring Pencils
Once I have finished my entire layer with alcohol markers, my drawing is ready for the colored pencil layer. I admit that i usually really enjoy this part, as i have mentioned in other posts, because this method feels like you are drawing with chalk, and you can even correct and erase. At this point, i sometimes felt a little overwhelmed, but it was like that voice of self-sabotage telling me that everything would turn out badly. I've seen other artists who, when they start to feel this way and see their drawing in progress as a disaster, take a break and then continue later. That's what i did. Once i finished this part, because i had already done most of the drawing, i decided to leave the final details for the next day, when i would be much calmer and have a clear head in the afternoon.

Acrylic details
I wasn't sure how i would do the fire part, or at least i wanted to add some sparkle or flames, and i wasn't quite sure how i wanted the background to look, so i took the acrylic markers and started painting some effects as if it were on fire, and finally, with the drawing pens, i couldn't leave out some details with pointillism.

The End
And so this epic fire nymph was created, full of vibrant and powerful colors. I hope you like it and have a great time. See you later ;)
