A Never Balanced Union

Good day Hivians, this week's prompt seems to make me laugh and angry at the same time owing to how foolish I was then. Anyways, I know we grow everyday and things we never knew before now tends to be a lesson we are keeping to, right away, let me share my First Love Experience.

Throughout my secondary school days, I never had anything to do with relationship, I never even had a thought of it despite seeing my friends going into relationships then and breaking up here and there back then. All I wanted was just to finish secondary school and advance my study to university.

I completed my secondary education in 2016, I had a little job in a paper mill factory where I was being paid #4000 which is about 9 hive. I met this girl who was just living down the street of the factory when I went to buy bread for other workers because we had an overnight work that day (21st December, 2016).

She was just smiling at me, ofcourse she was beautiful and I had to smile back, I bought the bread and mineral, took it back to the factory and worked throughout that night still reminiscing the smile the mystery girl gave me, I would time to time smile over it.

The next day, I was off duty, so I just stroll down to where I met her, but she wasn't there, stupid me 😔, I had to wait for over 2 hours in the hot son just for her to come out of the compound and the most funniest part is, when she came out, I had to do as if I was walking pass the compound so she won't think I was out there waiting for her.

The same thing happened a week after and I couldn't be this stupid again, so I had to summon my courage and ask for her 2go user which she did, she wrote in a piece of paper, then I was using Nokia Asha 200, one of the hottest phone then.

We did chat at length that night and the next day, I asked her out, she didn't even asked to think of it, she accepted it right there, I was so happy, as in, I went through that day without eating because finally, I will be tasting what relation is all about.

I started doing crazy things to impress this girl; I will give her sibblings exercise books almost every weekend since we do have left overs at the mill and the workers get to share them. It even got to a point her phone got spoilt, I had to give her mind and was without phone for good 3 months just to impress someone's daughter, I still remember how I used to sneak out of the factory to buy her lunch and some beverages.

I don't know if what I was doing was part of love or I was just overdoing everything. What do get me annoy is that, I never get to peck this girl not even to kiss her but I was showering her with so much love. It also got to a point I gave out full month salary so she can use and buy 2 chicken for her mum and grandmother as Christmas gift, what did I even know.

Sometimes, my parents will ask where my salary is and I will lie and tell them I wasn't paid for the months I carelessly gave away. I stopped buying things for myself, neither did I save again because of Anita.

The shocker happened on 18th of November, 2017 when I called her and asked If we could meet that night and she told me she was with her mum in the shop and will be closing very late, I never insisted, so, when I closed from work, my colleague who happened to be my best friend then asked me to accompany him to his cousin's place where he will be getting his Original WAEC result, I followed him.

On getting to the guy's place, i was ushered in, I had the greatest shock of my life; I saw my own Anita laying on Ifiok's chest who was my friend's cousin. I couldn't believe my eyes, I was just dumbfounded, everything happened so fast, even the Asha 200 I gave to her, she dashed it to Ifiok and told me before then that she was robbed.

I made up my mind never to love again but, it was easier said than done, after such hot breakfast, I still went ahead to love. My first love experience almost messed with my sanity but then, I am always grateful to God I wasn't depressed because of that.
