A Selfless Act by the Mycelic Morphoid

The twins Bert and Ernie were walking down the riverside of the longest river in the Splinterlands. They were conjoined twins and they were known across the lands as the Mycelic Morphoid.

They were happily prancing beside the riverbank as they were talking to each other. They were on their way to see their friends for a picnic.

The Obsidian was already there securing a spot for them. She laid down a huge carpet on the sand. She tied her Unicorn Mustang on a tree and they were situated perfectly. They were under the shade and they are a good distance from the river.

The twins saw her and they waved at each other. Shortly after they sat down, they were joined by the others. They gathered around and when they were about to start with their food. They were surrounded by another group.

The group was asking them to leave and they told them that it was their rightful place.

Nobody wants to take NO for an answer and a battle immediately ensued.

The leader and the summoner of the group, Obisidian, took it personally and got readied for battle.

The twins stood up and held everybody back down. "We got this guys." They took the position in front in a courageous stand.

Although the Mycelic Morphoid doesn't have much health or armor, they are brave enough to take on anyone to go up against them. Their ability Thorns can also work in their favor as a stand-in tank. It allows them to counterattack any monster that walks up to them and hits them with a melee attack.

In the second position, the OG tank of the group stood proudly upright.

The Unicorn Mustang isn't just a monster for riding. It's a really good tank with 10 HP and an ability that reduces the damage it takes from Magic attack. That's really convenient and efficient. Since the group is heavily reliant on Magic attacks, they should cover their as$es from the same type of attack. The Unicorn works well with Mycelic Morphoid because they give him a bit more cushion before it takes all the hit that comes from the opponents.

In the third post, the Regal Peryton follows the Unicorn's path.

The Regal Peryton is a deceptive deer that attacks really quickly. It also works well with the Mycelic Morphoid because as the twins protect the front, the Regal Peryton swoops in for a swift hit.

In the fourth position, the Khmer Princess dances her way to the lineup.

She's another magic-type attacker who benefits from the Obsidian's additional magic buff. She does her thing while the opponents are kept at bay by the Mycelic Morphoid and the Unicorn Mustang.

The next one to stand up is the Scavo Hireling.

image.png

I'm not really sure why this little rascal hangs with the bunch. He's pretty useless anyway, he can't attack, he's got a minuscule HP and his ability isn't really helping anyone in the lineup. But just like the Mycelic Morphoid, the Obsidian believes in giving chances.

The rear line was manned by the Psychic Goblin.

image.png
The psychic Goblin hangs back trying to support the Mycelic Morphoid and the Unicorn Mustang with its ability to heal and a bit of suppressive fire. It may be slow to move but its attack packs quite a punch.

The wind around them became heavy and almost seemed to stop circulating. They were all ready to rumble.

They were faced with Light Splinter monsters which were heavy on defense. Luckily, they rely on magic attacks that penetrate even the thickest and hardest of shields.

The battle began and it ended quickly thanks to the heroic sacrifice of the twins. The Mycelic Morphoid was the only casualty for the side of the Obsidian and the opposing team was annihilated one by one. The Mycelic Morphoid did its job and then some.

Conclusion
My strategy to use the Mycelic Morphoid as a decoy tank worked like a charm. It's the only monster that bit the dust in that particular battle. But seriously though, why did I bring the Scavo Hireling to that match? lol.

I really like using Mycelic Morphoid because it is a strategic monster that can be used in several ways. Plus, it only costs 1 mana point, so it's quite light when it comes to the requirement.

This is an entry to the weekly Splinterlands Share Your Battle Challenge. The theme for this battle is to use the Mycelic Morphoid in the battle.
