"Drake" the old man said as he was gasping for air. He was sickly and so weak. He was the elder of the Arnak clan. And he's already on his death bed.

"y...yo...you are.. the successor to..t.. the land. I... I leave you e...everything."

"I will do my best," Drake responded with authority but it was evident through the tears on the side of his eyes that he was trying to hold back his emotions. He's trying to keep his composure.

He was trying to keep it together in front of his master, the one who taught him everything he knows, the one that he relied upon growing up, the man that made him who he is today, the man he calls father.

"Son..."

"Yes, father?" Drake said as he knelt beside his father and held his hand.

"It is time." his father said and Drake understood what it means.

"It is time to tell you about the last lesson. The secret of our family, and it is..." even before he could spill out the beans that are the key to their whole clan an explosion disturbed the peace and sent everyone into a panic and a state of chaos.

"Go, son. Protect everyone." his father told him and he hurriedly got up and went outside. He watched his people run around while a group of hooligans try to wreak havoc in the area. They were wielding weapons and blasting magic shots through the crowd.

"Hey! What's going on? Who are you, people?" Drake shouted at them as he cast a forcefield around them.

"Thaddeus Brood is my name." a dark figure holding a staff came forward and walked toward Drake. He then snickered and laughed eerily on his face.

"I can sense the fear in your eyes boy, we've come to take over your clan, what can you do about it? Hmm. Wait? I can smell death around here. Is someone dying, lizard boy? Or, is it going to be you?" Thaddeus taunted Drake.

Drake swatted Thaddeus and sent him back. He was ready to fight.

"I don't know what you want, but if it's a battle you are looking for, then I will give it to you," Drake said and went on a stance. Some of the monsters living in the village saw him step up against the invaders. They saw that Drake was outnumbered. Without any hesitation, they ran towards him and willingly stood by him.

The first one to step up was the Cursed Windeku.

He's got a high HP and is pretty effective as a tank because of its Thorns ability. When the enemy attacks him, he can counterattack and deal some damage to it. And as it works with Drake of Arnak, he's also bestowed an armor blessing which was the special ability of Drake.

The one who followed the Cursed Windeku's suit is the Skeleton Assassin.

He is known to be a quick and good attacker. With its Sneak ability, it can hit enemies on the backline. And as it is working with Drake, it also gets an armor point that can prolong its life and stay longer on the battlefield.

In its tail, the Shadowy Presence takes the last place.

The Shadowy Presence doesn't really have any attacking power but it can pose as extra protection from behind. With the Drake's ability, it also gains an extra armor point and it means that it gets a little sturdier.

Everyone was ready and each and every one of them was eager to take the enemy down.

Attacks were exchanged and each side took damage from the other. Back and forth, and back and forth, it was an even battle and in the first part, no one really seemed to have the upper hand. But then, Drake summoned everything he had within and that includes the negative emotion that he was feeling, the grief he has in his heart that intensified every attack his friends were dealing.

And the battle was done.

Drake was panting and trying to catch his breath as he looked down on Thaddeus' body and his subordinates. He then remembered his father and ran back inside. But it was too late, he held the lifeless body of his father and wailed. He left his kid without being able to pass down the family's secret.

Too bad.

Conclusion

My strategy worked this time around because the additional armor spelled a huge difference. It just so happened that my opponent also used Death Splinters monsters with an anti-magic summoner so I had the advantage against their melee attacks.

I like using Drake of Arnak as a summoner because it gives a little bit of flexibility to any team. And it's one of only two dragon monsters that I can use.

Heeey!!!
