The life of a merchant is no joke. You have to be constantly on the move and traveling to somewhere new to find new resources and something to sell. For Dorad, it was the way he wanted to live his life. He wasn't strong enough nor his magic abilities powerful enough for him to be an adventurer, he chose the path of a Supply Runner.

Supply Runner is a special type of merchant, they are mercenaries specializing in the acquisition and movement of resources. As such, they know where to acquire almost anything and they know how to smuggle almost everything. Dorad Explora made his name in the industry due to his adventurous and courageous nature. He's the only Supply Runner who is ready to swim through the deepest part of the abyss to acquire a precious resource, he's also known as Dorad The Explorer.

True to his acclaimed name, he is on an exploration journey most of the time and today wasn't any different. He was accompanied by local monsters to help him gather resources and for his protection as well. It really helps to have various connections like that and he isn't the type to be a cheapskate when it comes to his security.

They were deep within the forest and they stumbled upon a cave opening. Dorad walked cautiously to the opening and exclaimed in utter excitement as he stumbled into a magic ore on the ground. He lit up his torch and immediately saw the abundance of the ore inside the cave. He thought he hit the jackpot and he was so happy at that time.

"What are you doing here? Scram off." a fierce and agitated voice came out of nowhere.

It was a monster of the dragon descent that confronted them.

"We found this mine first. This mine is mine." the dragon said.

And as a merchant, Dorad knows that he couldn't back down and let go of his discovery. He was ready to offer anything just to ensure his safety. He upped the payment of his team to several diamonds each, and everyone was willing to risk everything for that amount. And the battle commenced.

The team he employed were veteran mercenaries so they know what to do. They are a whole team so they have a coordinated strategy. Everyone knows their place and their role. Each monster went ahead and stood where they belong in the formation.

The first one who stood in front was the Carrion Shade.

Although it is not the normal tank, Carrion Shade provides an extra shield for the attackers like the Supply Runner to do their thing. It also provides a bit of comfort for the main tank to breathe a little.

And in the second position, the real tank was placed.

Cursed Windeku is the ideal tank for this lineup not only because it has a high HP but it can also deal damage to its attacker with its Thorn ability that counterattacks the enemy when it is hit. It does its thing while the Supply Runner is busy in the middle trying to deal with the enemies from a safe distance.

The third place is taken by the Skeleton Assasin.

Its Sneak ability allows it to attack from any position on the lineup and attack the backline of the opposing team. In this position, it safeguards the Supply Runner while it helps with the offensive effort.

The Supply Runner falls in line.

Dorad, the Supply Runner has a pretty itchy damage from range. This is the optimal place for him wherein he lies safely in the middle while he tries to hurt the opponent with his marksmanship. Due to the nature of his profession, it would really help him if he knows how to use a weapon and in this case, his choice was the bow and arrow.

Behind him in the fifth place, the Death Elemental haunts the enemies.

image.png

It supports the offensive effort of the Supply Runner with its magic attacks. It also covers the Supply Runner's arse in this way. Total protection for the Supply Runner all around.

And in the last place, a Shadowy Presence lurks.

The Shadowy Presence provides extra protection from behind. It catches attacks from enemies with Sneak abilities. And this strategy provides more protection and safety for the damage-dealers like the Supply Runner.

The field was set and everyone was eager to defend the magic ore in the cave.

The dragon was so sturdy and he blessed his team with additional armor too which made it more difficult for Dorad to break their defense. The enemy also has a repairman who repairs the shields at times.

But even though the battle dragged on for a bit, Dorad and his mercenaries grabbed the upper hand and eventually turned the tide towards their side. They managed to win and annihilate the invading forces.

My strategy worked well here because I had a good defense set with a decent offense in the middle. I wouldn't change a thing given the exact same situation.

I also like the Supply Runner because it has decent damage, speed, and HP in its stats. But I don't think that I will use him constantly in battles, I mean, it requires 6 mana points, I could think of better attackers with abilities with that mana.

Hey!

This has been my entry to #Splinterlands Share Your Battle weekly event. This week, the theme is to use the Supply Runner in the battle.

And as usual, I tried a little bit to offer you a different narrative than just by simply showing how my battle went through, I hope that you appreciate it. :)

That's it from me and until we read again...

Cheers!!!
