Una clase diferente de Ajedrez / A different Kind of Chess
Mi nombre es Joan, tengo 32 años, soy de México pero vivo en USA. Soy fan de los videojuegos, juegos de mesa, MTG, StarWars, Marvel… mi esposa me describe como un nerd que ama los deportes.
Empecé a jugar Splinterlands en 2021, justo antes de Chaos Legion y todo este nuevo meta.
Recuerdo que la primera vez que me recomendaron el juego tarde más de 2 meses en probarlo ya que un “auto-battler” no sonaba muy atractivo para mí, no era mi tipo de juego hasta que jugué y quedé impresionado, porque más que un “auto-battler” lo veo como un tipo de ajedrez que cambia de reglas en cada juego y en el que tienes que imaginar alrededor de 14 millones de escenarios en tu mente (estoy exagerando) con el objetivo de vencer a tu contrincante que también tuvo que imaginar cómo te podría derrotar y como podría ser derrotado, todo eso en menos de 2 minutos… WOW.
He jugado otros “Play to Earn” y ninguno se compara con Splinterlands. La comunidad, juego y tecnología me hacen creer en este proyecto, y esta es la razón por la que he decidido escribir y conectarme con esta gran comunidad.

My name is Joan, I’m 32 years old, I’m Mexican but live in the US. I’m a fan of videogames, board games, MTG, Star Wars, Marvel… my wife describes me as a nerd who also happens to like sports.
I started playing Splinterlands in 202, just before Chaos Legion and all this new meta we have now. I remember that the first time someone recommended me Splinterlands I waited for around 2 months before trying the game, this was because I wasn’t interested in an “Auto-Battler”, it was just not my kind of game… But once I played, oh boy… for me Splinterlands can be describe as a type of mental chess that changes the rules of the game every single match and where you have to imagine around 14 million scenarios in your mind (I’m exaggerating) and all this while your opponent has to do the same in less than 2 minutes… WOW.
I’ve played other “Play to Earn” games and none of the is even close to Splinterlands. The community, game and technology make me believe in this Project, and that’s the reason I’m here writing about this game and trying to connect with this great community.
