Chaos pack is a disappointment again, but DEC is rocking it lately! Week 18 of the 52 Week Challenge

I am opening 52 packs in 52 weeks of Splinterlands Chaos Legion. I have a goal of being profitable, but this week was another tough one.

I purchased the packs at around $2.25 on Tribaldex, which is a great discount from the retail price of $4 a pack on Splinterlands. There was a spike in pack prices last week, but packs on Tribaldex have settled back into the less than $2 range at $1.96. I find it interesting that of all the second layer tokens in Hive, Splinterlands dominates the daily volume.
See Tribaldex image below of values as of today. DEC has been climbing for the last two weeks and is almost at peg again. That's very good, but SPS is still declining.

But will I have a profit at the end of the year is my big question each week on my pack openings? Again not this week. The return on this pack was a shabby $0.33. The cumulative cost at this point is $40.5, while the return is now at $53.76. So overall, I am ahead, but the last few weeks have been pretty bad in pack openings.
