What is the gold square mean when combining cards?

avatar

I notice that when I combine cards on @peakmonsters that there is a Gold outline around one of the levels.

The gold square is not related to the highest level that I can combine cards. And it is on different levels, depending on the card that I am combining. Any clue what the gold outline square means?

Yes, I was wondering that too. Good observation to see if someone has the answer.

The border on certain levels mean that it is the maximum level for that league (league level is represented by border color).

In the screenshot for example:

  • Level 3 - Bronze border
  • Level 5 - Silver border
  • Level 8 - Gold border

Because these are the max levels of disintegrator that you can play in Bronze, Silver, and Gold league respectively.
