That is a great video (well, as usual from you!). It is quite insane still to me that there's games where you can earn just for playing - even if Splinterlands really is an Invest-to-Earn rather than Play2Earn.
Blogging is probably the best way to kickstart your journey without investing - using the entire ecosystem is crucial really if you're on a tight budget. Gotta be sure to use the best tags and most of all, do high effort content. For newer players this can be difficult, but if you put a lot of effort into posts, you'll be rewarded by curators (like myself!) and these upvotes really can add up - I think just this one I'm leaving here is around 10 bucks across SPT and 1UP tokens.

Agreed! I'm not doing these methods on my alt account just because of time but if people want to earn through splinterlands and hive, there are good gains to be made as you said!
