Hello Splintermaniacs!

We know that every battle in Splinterlands has its particularities. I don't get tired of saying that this makes this game dynamic, fun and hardly a monotonous game. For the adversities of battle, we can count on the most variable monsters and summoners, each one with its characteristics, ideal for each situation.

Battle rules often limit us. Who remembers that a little while ago, there was only the Up Close & Personal rule to limit one type of attacking monster? i recently released another two rules that only allow monsters with magic or ranged attack. Perhaps, with Up Close & Personal it was easier to stand out and find ways to put a good team composition on the field. Monsters with Sneak, Opportunity, and Reach filled in the gaps well. Tanks with this type of attack are also friendlier and more efficient.

Well, scaling a team with only ranged monsters is not easy, not everyone can perform in the first position and when they don't have that ability, they are tremendously useless. Of course we can solve this, but it is still a difficult task.

But when the rule is Wends Out , it's easier to compose a good team, taking into account that, magic attack monsters can attack from any position.

Even though it is a friendlier rule, other rules together that may be active will probably make it difficult to choose a team that is more efficient, right?

So what would be the solution to perform well?

It's hard to give a short and clear answer on this, but if I can sum it up, it would be: Good options and smart reasoning for the battle situation.

  • Having monster options helps a lot. If every situation is going to be different, it's good to have a wider range of choices to solve possible needs.

  • Good reasoning is the most important thing, because even if you have great options, if you don't read well to use suitable monsters, it won't help. You need to be efficient in choices.

Nothing better than a battle to illustrate all this!

Note that the first limitation we have in this match is Wends Out, only with magic monsters do I need to cast a team that would take poison damage every round. The second limitation was the amount of mana, 16. How to build an efficient team that can survive the poison with only that much mana?

The first choice was a summoner that gives me some kind of help, I chose one that weakens magic monsters.

In addition to lowering magic attacks, it also lowers health. This helps enemy monsters die faster.

The choice of monsters was crucial. First a tank that has a lot of health to hold attacks and is also resistant to poison damage each round:

The efficiency of this monster is not just limited to the points mentioned above. He would also deal direct and indirect damage to the enemy that attacked him.

Since it was a limited mana match, I only had one more monster to choose from:

He could survive longer, his Immunity skill will get rid of poison damage every round. Also, Stun was present as a second skill, preventing the first rival monster from doing damage to my tank in a few rounds.

Limited but with options and a smart reading of what could be done, I can beat a superior opponent in terms of monsters and summoner. This proves that the two points I mentioned at the beginning of this post are efficient and should be taken into account: good options and an intelligent reading of the situation!

Thanks for reading this far!
