Stunning Splinterlands

In my time playing Splinterlands some abilities I have rarely played against. One of these is stun which I find really useful, a well timed stun and halt a killing blow buying you time to turn the tide of battle. The new update requiring us to use certain abilities to get our focus chests is definitely going to help change this I feel. Some cards previously seen as not worth buying could even see a price increase from it.

🃏 CARD USAGE🃏

In this battle I have gone with my favourite Splinter Water. The Medusa is one of the original cards from back in the alpha and later beta era. My Medusa is a beta version as you will see from the battle. At level 3 it gets stun and considering it is a 4 mana card it is easy to slip into most lineups.

🃏 CARD SELECTION 🃏

Summoner: Alric Stormbringer

  • Alric has been my got to summoner for a long time now. With Water splinter being Magic heavy, using Alric with his +1 to magic is a no brainer.

First slot: Lobstradamus

  • @cryptopanda a previous member of our guild helped me level up this card up which I still appreciate. It has proved very valuable with its magic reflect and shield, making it hard to take down.

Second slot: Furious Chicken

  • This card needs no introduction and is one of the most used cards in the game. I used it here as a gap filler to buy me time.

Third slot: Torrent Fiend

  • This card from the Chaos legion will most likely be worth a lot in years to come as it is one of the few cards costing zero mana. Another gap filler to buy time

Forth slot: Medusa

  • We finally get to the first of the cards being protected in the back line. Forth spot is a heavily protected spot and I chose here to place my Medusa. From here it can stun my enemies and break their frontline.

Fifth slot: Spirit Hoarder

  • Chosen mostly for it’s magic attack and low mana here , it also offers healing for the backline that comes in quite handy.

Sixth slot: Doctor Blight

  • With my current focus Chest requirement being affliction, poison and weaken. Doctor Blight covered not only one but two of these. It also has magic attack and can not be targeted in less it is in the front row. It just made sense to use this card.

LOOKING BACK

This game went quiet well considering my opponent was using a Level 8 summoner with cards leveled up a lot higher and mine . Their Spineback Turtle for example was a Level 10 card.
I really needed move attack and had it not have been for Doctor Blight’s poison and my Medusa’s stuns I would have lost this battle.

One up is a tribe on Hive Blockchain focused on blockchain gaming, the community there is very active and welcoming. They are working towards creating a Esport’s team for blockchain gaming from what I understand and even have a special token called Cartel , separate from their Oneup Token for those that really want to support them. Cartel is aimed at true believers of this community and have plans to give rewards to the holders.
