Splinterlands Weekly Challenge | Prismologist
The Primologist is a strong Epic card from the Life Splinter. Fully upgraded it has a 4 damage ranged attack, combined with both splash damage buff, magic debuff abilities a forcefield that makes strong enemy attacks deal her just 1 damage.
Apart from it having many utilities in the game itself, I find both the graphics and the lore behing it pleasing. I imagine a fully trained Prismologist in battle have, as depicted, glass shards floating all around them, slowly spinning. And then when the attack comes, they are all flung at the enemy at the same time, ricocheting off the target and hitting nearby monsters as well.

Apparently only a very few of Primologist students survive the "education" to be become one.
In order to become a full-fledged Spectrum member and Prismologist, a spellcaster must craft their own Prism to use as a focus for their spells. Each summer solstice, future Prismologists journey from the Shimmer City to the deserts of Draykh Nahka to collect sand and create their own prism.
It is a challenging process involving facing multiple dragons in battle, heating the sand enough to become glass, and making it through the desert alive. Not many manage to complete the task, but those that do are a sight to behold.
That's a pretty interesting background. There's more in the lore for you to read if interested -- this was just an excerpt.
Ruleset, analysis and battle
A 58 Mana battle with Holy Protection and Target Practice rulesets. This means that all monsters on both teams, will not receive any damage the first time they're hit, and all ranged and magic attack monsters have the Snipe ability.

A lot of mana equals big and expensive monsters, which is always fun. And even more fun when we introduce a bunch of Ressurects.
Since all ranged monsters get Snipe, we'll be using a bunch of them this round, so that we hopefully can take put the enemy ranged monsters fast.
Team lineup:
- Summoner: Lux Vega (MAX)
- Pos 1: Arkemis the Bear (MAX)
- Pos 2: Djinn Renova (MAX)
- Pos 3: High Priest Darius (Lvl 3)
- Pos 4: Adelade Brightwing (MAX)
- Pos 5: Prismologist (MAX)
- Pos 6: Shieldbearer (Lvl 5)
Strategy:
- Lux will buff the speed, health and armor of all monsters. She should make for a good all-around summoner for this battle.
- The new promo card Arkemis has a crazy amount of abilities, and will make the perfect tank against the anticipated strong monsters of the opponent. Protect gives all our monsters +2 armor and Halving nerfs opponent tanks' attacks. Forcefield is the most important one for this match, as it will reduce all damage dealt above 5 to 1. Hopefully opponent has some super strong attacks planned, hee hee. Enrage is a welcome bonus.
- The Djinn's Strengthen, will boost everyones health by 1, and heal rear monsters with Triage. In addition, her magic attack should suit this team nicely.
- Darius is primarily there for his Resurrect, though Weaken should also come in handy. He also sport the Blast ability of course, which combined with Snipe and a decent magic attack, should be able to cause some trouble.
- Mrs. Brightwing is a Flying monster, which can Repair the extra armor provided by Arkemis and Lux. She also has Resurrect, which brings our total in this team to two (fun!). Plus Immunity and Swiftness of course, which never hurts.
- Prismologist with its high damage ranged attack with abilities Blast, Forcefield and Silence could prove devastating to the enemy team.
- Shieldbearer in the back, with Taunt and Shield will keep the opponent busy attacking the least important monster on our team, while we hammer away at theirs.
Battle is nigh:

Results / Comment
A long lasting match this one. The opponent had put together a strong team, but so had I. In the end, my countless ressurections and strong attacks made them meet their demise. Even if it was not given from the start.
Turns out our many blast monsters was the ones that tipped the scale. Maybe not that suprising, but interesting nonetheless. I'll definitely keep this in mind moving forward, for high mana cap battles like these.
