Tips for Beginners! - Hear Me Out

Welcome to the world of Splinterlands, greetings from someone who couldn’t do much on Splinterlands but watched it grow since the beginning, maybe from 2020 to till now. Don't run away, hear me out. I might not be a good Splinterlands player but I have been actively engaged with different activities with its assets like DEC and SPS. Have seen SPS rising from the bottom to the mighty 1 dollar peak and now hovering around 2 cents, what a journey it was! Have seen the peak of the game and now it's in a sleeping lava mode, waiting to burst again so stick to it as hard as you can.

Well, there would be more posts from lots of successful players as well, good and informative ones. But, this one gives you the scenario from the bottom on what didn’t work out for me and what should have been done that I have missed. Maybe one or two would be beneficial to you, so let's move ahead.

Splinterlands: Splinterlands is a play-to-earn model web3 game that utilizes blockchain technology built on the Hive ecosystem. This is a strategic card battling game along with the scope to collect and trade different assets. Players here play for entertainment along with their own cards and different in-game assets like SPS and DEC that can be traded for other mainstream cryptocurrencies so it's not just a source of entertainment but also a place to earn money for real.

Getting Started: Join via My Referral Link and navigate to the Register option by clicking on the Log-In button and there you need to register via an email. Later you need to spend 10 dollars to buy the Summoner's Spellbook which would have all the necessary NFT cards(summoners & monsters) to get started playing. You can buy that via Paypal or available crypto forms and get started with an unique username, wallet, and full access to the game. There you would explore all the options. There would be lots of terms like mana, summoner, monster, attack types, and whatnot. I would say, Visit This Page and read all the pages and note down the things as you prefer. This is a must to get familiar with the terms and their usage.

Strategy Tips for Beginners: In this section, I won't be able to share any of the specific strategies but lemme focus on what you should do or worked for me. The community has an amazing weekly battle challenge that focuses on a specific rule set every week and the whole community participates in that and shares their strategies, what worked for them, and what didn't. I think this is the best to go through and have a vast idea of different player's strategies and plans focusing on that particular ruleset.

Community: Community is the most important part of such open places. Not the school, college academic life where we do have a teacher and sets of books to read and pass the exam. There you don't need to put so much importance on what the other people are doing, but here your academic books get replaced by the blog posts or tutorials the other players are creating. You gotta know the strategies they are using, the reasons behind their wins, their thoughts, and plans. So getting actively engaged in the community discord server is a must to satisfy the endless queries and must build the habit of reading the posts from other players. These two are unavoidable if you want to do well in this arena. Also, keep an eye on the weekly challenges, make the habit of writing blogs on the hive ecosystem and build a footprint there as well.

My Early Experience: The first entry was through buying a spellbook for 10 dollars. That had some necessary cards to play with. During that time, I used to look for blog posts featuring beginner's guides. Used to read them and apply. Used to open a tab to read the ability of cards and such necessary steps while picking cards or to know about the ability. The best part was having connections with other players. If you are new then there will be lots of queries, go to the SL's server and keep asking, also being active in the conversation would give you an advantage of knowing what to expect in the journey. Not only for splinterlands but it applies to all. So I used to be active in the conversations, reading lots of posts. Lost battles in a row, and I do still lose in a row, lol. Sometimes I win but I don't know why. It kept going. We just need to keep digging more and more. I did the same to survive.
