Another week, another battle challenge.
I am pleased to engage myself in this weekly battle challenge because it is forcing me to read what the other players are playing with this themed card. What are the thoughts of those players, what's working for them and what is not, an overall plan that leads to practice a lot. Before this one I had to play many matches, secure victory and lost as well, was seeing what was going on as per plan and what was going on otherwise.

SPIRIT HOARDER

This week's theme card is SPIRIT HOARDER from CHAOS LEGION edition, which is from the NEUTRAL element, rarity is LEGENDARY, and has the Triage ability.

The Battle

As my summoner, I had chosen Obsidian from earth element that gives +1 magic attack to all the friendly magic monsters. On the other hand, my opponent had chosen Thaddius Brood which took -1 magic and -1 health from me. It was a good move from my opponent. This was a 39-mana match with the standard ruleset which gave me the scope to move on with some of my higher mana cards.

The Lineup

I had chosen Sand Worm as my first monster because of its huge melee attack ability to damage by five. But the second monster from my opponent's team, Disintegrator with demoralize ability did reduce the melee attack from my monsters by one to each, it hurt my emotions, another good move from the opponent that impressed me.

In the second position I had placed Mycelic Infantry which had a decent amount of melee attack, armor, and health to eat a chunk of health on each hit on my opponents. On the third, I had placed Goblin Psychic which has the Tank Heal ability to restore a portion of my first monster on each round and it worked like a charm, my first monster was standing till the end due to this one.

Our theme card Spirit Hoarder was at the fourth position with its Triage ability to heal the backline-friendly monster that has taken most of the damage. So it was helping the last monster that I had planted with high mana, Mycelic Slipspawn with Taunt ability to draw all the attention to this card if the opponents are able to attack and it was standing with ten health and our theme card was ready to heal this one, a perfect pair in my sense.

First Round

That's how my first round started. I didn't get the +1 magic attack advantage due to the opponent's summoner instead I had to start with -1 health for all my monsters. Also, my opponent's Disintegrator took away 1 melee attack from my first two monsters.

Second Round

The second round was a surprise for me. Both of us lost a monster. My opponent lost the first monster and I got back all the melee attacks that were reduced by this monster. and I am not surprised at all but I just lost my last monster because my opponent had GOBSON BOMBER and the recharge ability of this one did 3x damage to my last monster and took it down. I was startled on seeing that.

Final Round

I didn't lose any more monsters because I had the Tank Heal to restore the health of my first monster and it was just killing one by one and I got the victory.

Placing Spirit Hoarder in the fourth position due to its Triage ability was a good move because I had Mycelic Slipspawn with Taunt ability to draw all the attention from the enemy monster and it needed to heal continuously.

Yes, my strategy worked. Though I got some surprise from my opponent, it couldn't break my plans and I got an easy win. Next time I will try to replace the second monster with something else,

Yes, I did like Spirit Hoarder, the Triage ability to heal a backline monster that is willing to take the damages from the enemy is a sweet thing for me to go with. So yeah, I will consider including this in my lineup when I need something like this for sure.
