An unexpected free win and a great tactical battle!
Hello Splinterlands family. Splinterlands is one of my daily sources of entertainment. Every battle is a new experience. Card collection, ruleset, and the struggle to understand the opponent's mentality - all of which make ranked matches exciting. Today was a very lucky day for me. In the midst of the fierce competition in the Silver League (silver 1), I encountered two matches that surprised me and gave me confidence at the same time. In one, I won without a fight due to luck, and in the other, I won a decisive victory by arranging my own strategy. In today's blog, I share the details of these two different experiences.

First Battle: Toxic Smoke and an Unexpected Free Win
When the first match of the day was about to start, I was a little worried when I saw the ruleset on the screen. The mana cap for this match was only 27. Building a strong team with such low mana in the Silver League is quite challenging. But the real challenge was the two rulesets:

Noxious Fumes: This ruleset is one of the hardest rulesets in the game, in my opinion. This means that every monster will be 'Poisoned' as soon as the match starts. They will lose 2 health points at the start of each round.
Now You See Me: This means that no one behind them can be directly targeted except the monster in the first position of the battlefield (Camouflage).
My plan and preparation:

Since my monsters' health would decrease every round due to 'Noxious Fumes', the only way to survive in this match was 'Healing' and high health. I coolly devised my strategy.
My plan was quite simple but effective. I decided to use my auto-healing summoner. The specialty of this summoner is that it can heal my monsters every round, which is essential for surviving the poison ruleset. Then, I selected a card as my first position or 'tank' that has the highest health points in my current collection. Because, even with the effects of poison, I wanted it to survive for at least 3-4 rounds. And in the second position, I placed a strong magic attack monster and set the 'auto healing' ability for my tank. All in all, I was mentally prepared for a long fight.
Result:

Funny and at the same time surprising, when I entered the battlefield, I saw that none of my opponent's (KREA) teams had submitted! After the allotted time, the screen displayed "Enemy Fle,d" or the opponent has surrendered. Maybe he was scared by the slowness of my strategy according to the ruleset, or he had a problem with his internet connection. Whatever the reason, I won this tough ruleset match without any attacks. As the saying goes, "I won't give you a battle without a battle, my dear"—but here I won without a battle!
Second Battle: Magical Victory with the Right Strategy and the Preferred Summoner

After that unexpected free win in the first match, my confidence and enthusiasm doubled. I was eagerly waiting for the next match. The mana cap in the second match was 36 Mana, which is a medium-quality battlefield.

The rulesets in this match were perfect for my preferred strategy:
Keep Your Distance: According to this rule, no melee attack monsters can be used in the battle.
Fire & Regret: That is, if a monster makes a ranged attack, it will take damage or return fire.
My Strategy and Card Selection:

After looking at the ruleset, I understood that the key to winning here is Magic Attack. Because melee attacks are prohibited,d and using ranged attacks will only harm you. So I chose the Earth element here.
I used my favorite and very powerful Summoner ManaKaylia Silverleaf (which I think is the best for this particular tactical battle). The combination of this Earth element Summoner and the Magic monsters I had arranged was great. My lineup was arranged in such a way that there was defense in the front and continuous magic damage could be given from the back. I knew that if the opponent made a mistake and brought a ranged attack, the 'Fire & Regret' ruleset would finish him off.

Battle Flow:
As soon as the match started, I saw that my guess was 100% correct. My opponent (GREECE02) came with the 'Life' element and mistakenly relied on ranged attacks. But my team had strong healing support and devastating magic attacks.
My monsters were getting quite good support due to my Summoner's special ability. My magic attackers were piercing the opponent's armor and directly reducing their health. On the other hand, whenever the opponent was ranged attacking me, they were taking damage themselves due to the ruleset. My 'tank' was almost unharmed due to the healing support, and the monsters behind were getting hit one after another.

I won this match very nicely and with one-sided dominance. As you can see in the screenshot, I got 190 Glint and 0.778 SPS tokens as rewards for this win, which made my Silver 1 League journey even smoother.
These two battles today reminded me once again that in Splinterlands, it is not just about having strong cards, but also adapting to the situation and choosing the right summoner by understanding the ruleset. Especially in the second match, the way I used magic attacks using the 'Fire & Regret' ruleset was really satisfying.
I will be back with more new strategies and battle reports in the future. Until then, stay well and continue fighting in the world of Splinterlands!
See you in the Arena!
