My Path to Power in Splinterlands: A Story of Proper Strategy and Long-Term Investment

avatar

Hello Splinterlands Community!

How are you all, my fellow gamers? Of course you are. Today I am participating in the Weekly Engagement Challenge again. And I will try to reveal as much as I can about the things that have been asked this week.

Every champion on our gaming platform has a beginning story. And so did I. When I first started playing Splinterlands, I thought that just playing with high-mana cards would win. But on this journey from Bronze to Silver League, I realised that real "power" in this ecosystem does not depend only on expensive cards. It depends on a proper strategy, getting inspiration from wins and learning from losses, and most importantly, believing in the game and investing in it for the long term. All of this has really taught me what is good for me.

Friends, I am here to share my personal experience with you in this week's "Paths to Power" challenge. So today I want to show you how I am building my account @mirzaiqi not just as a gamer, but as a long-term investor in the Hive ecosystem. So friends, let's take a look...

1. The foundation of power: My Investment Path

Friends, before talking about cards or battles, I want to talk about the most important aspect of my growth, and that is Commitment.

Yes, why am I saying this? Manyplayers on our gaming platform come to "Play-to-Earn" games only hoping for immediate profit. There is no way to avoid this because we have been seeing this for a long time. What those users do is sell what they get immediately. But my thinking is a little different. I believe that to get fruit from a tree, you first have to water its roots. And that's exactly why I've focused on staking my rewards instead of selling them. I try to use the rewards I get from the social media challenges or engagement challenges that I participate in every week to make my game deck a little heavier. And that's why I'm constantly levelling up my small cards and buying new cards from the market to increase my power.

My current investment status - over 3,000 SPS staked

As you can see on my dashboard, I currently have 3,084 SPS staked. I could have sold them if I wanted to, but I didn't. You know why? Because I'm moving forward with an investor mindset on this gaming side. This will help me get vouchers and more rewards in the future, which I believe. The rest will be seen later.

Along with this, I am also giving equal importance to increasing my Hive Power (HP). Currently, I have 660+ HP in my wallet. Yes,s I know this power is very low, but I am a newbie,e so it is a lot for me as a new user. And I feel that the longer I go on this platform, the more my power will increase, and I am working on that initiative regularly.

I am increasing my Hive Power to support the ecosystem

Holding Hive Power is very important to me because it helps me to stay connected with the community and vote for good posts of others. So I am constantly trying to increase the power of my gaming account as well as my blogging account. My goal is to increase these numbers constantly. Because I think? The stronger the foundation, the higher I will be able to climb in the future.

2. Card Collection: Building the Collection

Initially, I used to buy cards randomly, because I didn't understand anything then, I just knew that I had to buy more cards with higher values and more attacking cards. But now I'm very organised, you know why, because I've gotten a pretty good idea about this game in these two long months. In fact, I'm slowly understanding what I need and what I don't need. Currently, I'm mainly focusing on the Modern Format. Because it's quite difficult for me to focus equally on both Wild and Modern at the same time. That's why I'm playing regularly in a league and also playing Fortune More.

I'm slowly collecting cards from the Chaos Legion and Rebellion sets. When buying cards, I don't just look at dama;e, I look at the utility of the card. For example, cards with abilities like Tank Heal, Protect, or Thorns are at the top of my list of favourites. Even though my deck is not at max level yet, each new card has helped me come up with new strategies.

I am currently fighting in the Gold I league in Frontier or Wild mode and the Silver III league in Modern mode. My current Owned Power is around 11,440, and I am trying to increase it every day.

My current profile status - the fight is going on non-stop!

3. Battlefield: Battle Strategy

Basically, every card has an ability. It's not just about having power; you have to know how to use it. I want to talk about a recent match I won, which will explain my play style.

The Scenario:

Mana Cap: 43

Rulesets: Reverse Speed (the slowest monster attacks first) and Fire & Regret (range attackers take damage in return).

Splinter: Death vs. Earth

In this match, my opponent, Eart,h brought Splinter and their powerful Legendary Summoner Immortalis. Immortalis offers very strondefencese against magic attacks.

My Strategy (Death Splinter):
I chose Thaddius Brood as the Summoner. This was a very calculated decision. Thaddius reduces the enemy's magic attacks and health. Since I expected the opponent to use magic cards in a high-mana match, it was important to weaken them early.

Why did I choose this lineup?

  1. Tank: I put a high-health monster in front that can take a lot of damage.

  2. Reverse Speed Advantage: The ruleset was Reverse Speed. So I deliberately used monsters with low speed. Those who are slow in normal matches became the fastest and most dangerous in this match!

  3. Magic and Melee Use: Since the Fire & Regret ruleset was in place, using ranged attackers was suicidal. So I relied on magic and melee attacks.

Result: My strategy worked perfectly. My "slow" monsters finished their main cards before my opponent had a chance to heal.

I didn't need expensive gold foil cards to win this match; I needed to understand the ruleset properly. In Reverse Speed, even your weakest card can become your greatest strength—understanding that is the real power.

My "power path" or journey in Splinterlands didn't happen overnight. It's a long process.

Some tips for new players:

  1. Stake SPS: Don't sell all your rewards, but save some for the future. This will benefit you in the long run.

  2. Understand the ruleset: Your card collection may be small, but if you understand the ruleset well, you can defeat even the strongest opponents.

  3. Stay involved in the community: Write regularly on the Hive blog and get to know others.

I continue my journey with the dream of reaching the Diamond League. See you on the battlefield!
