My Splinterlands Diary: Opening the Gladius Pack after a long wait and the joy of getting a Gold Foil Card!
How are you all? Hope you are all healthy and well by the grace of God. I am also doing well .
Today is a different kind of joy for me. Those who regularly follow my gameplay or play the Splinterlands game know how satisfying every small achievement is in this game. Especially when something is purchased with long-accumulated tokens, and the result is as expected. Today, I am going to share with you one such wonderful moment of my Splinterlands journey. Today I bought a "GLADIUS CASE" pack from the guild store and opened it. Believe me, my heart rate increased a little when I opened the pack! Let me tell you the whole story step by step.

Guild Brawl and the Struggle to Accumulate Merits
Those of us in guilds know how hard it is to accumulate "Merits" or Merits tokens. You have to play Guild Brawl day after day, perform well, and then you accumulate Merits little by little. These Merits cannot be bought and sold; they have to be earned with your own skills.
Merits have been accumulating in my account for quite some time. Today, when I saw that 2,035 Merits had accumulated in my balance, I didn't want to delay any longer. It takes exactly 2,000 Merits to buy a Gladius Case in the guild store. I thought to myself, today is the day! It's time to test my luck.

Shopping Moment
I went straight to the Guild Store from the Shop option. As you know, Gladius cards are much more powerful than regular cards. Their special feature is the "bloodlust" ability. That is, if you can kill an enemy with this card, all its stats increase. So these cards are essential for winning Brawl Battles.
When I clicked on the "gladius case", a pop-up message appeared on the screen—"Are you certain you need to buy 1 item for two 000 deserves?" To be honest, I paused for a second before urgent the affirm button. I conceive that I will get something appropriate with all of the tough-earned deserves? Or will all the normal cards be on my brow? But in case you do not take dangers, there may be no reward! So I stated "Bismillah" and pressed the affirm button.
Pack Opening and Dhukkupukani

When the option to open the pack came up after purchasing it, the backs of 5 cards were shown on the screen. The cards were like magic. This animation from Splinterlands is my favourite, and at the same time, it was tense. I was moving my mouse towards the "flip all" option and thinking—please, at least there should be a gold foil or a legendary card!
Usually, getting something really good from a Gladius pack is quite a bit of luck. Most of the time, the pack is filled with common cards. But there is a hope in the corner of my mind.
What I finally got (result)

When the cards were flipped, I was surprised! My luck was really helpful today. Let's take a look at what cards I got and why I am so happy:
- Alva the Crusher (Gold Foil - Common):
The first one that cannot be missed is this card. As soon as I turned the cards over, I saw a flash of gold! Yes, friends, I got a Gold Foil card! It is a card of the Water element. Although it is a common card, its value and power are much higher because it is a gold foil. This 6-mana card has 2 melee attacks and 2 armour. Gold foil cards help greatly in increasing the collection power. I am very happy to see it.
Kotriphus Bayne (Rare):
This card of the Death element is of the "Rare" or rare category. The armour and health of this 6-mana card are quite good. I believe that using it behind the tank in the Brawl Battle will give great results. At least one rare card was guaranteed, and I am quite happy to get this one.Witch of Warwick (Common):
This is going to be one of my favourite cards. This card of the Death element has the "Life Leech" ability. That is, the more damage he deals, the more his own health will increase. With the Bloodlust ability, this card alone can turn the entire match around. It is a game-changer in a 5 mana match.Hugo Strongsword (Common):
This Life element card is quite solid. Good armour and damage for 5 mana. Especially its "Shield" ability will help protect it from physical attacks. It can provide good defence in the front line or second position.Bertrol Gobson (Common):
This small Earth element card is quite useful. It can be used for only 2 mana. Its "Opportunity" or "Sneak" type attack is very effective for low-mana battles.
Overall, I am very satisfied with today's pack opening. Spending 2000 merits was not a waste at all. The best surprise of the day for me was the gold foil version of Alva the Crusher.
Since Gladius playing cards are "Soulbound" (meaning they can't be sold or transferred), they may be useful for strengthening your deck. I believe those new cards, especially the gold foil and rare playing cards, will take my Guild Brawl performance to the next level. Now I'm eagerly expecting the following Brawl to begin so I can typhoon the battlefield with those cards!
For those of you who are also playing Splinterlands, how was your experience opening the Gladius pack? Have you ever gotten a legendary or gold foil? Don't forget to comment. Best wishes to you all. See you in the next blog, with a new exciting experience.
Until then, stay well, stay healthy and keep enjoying the game.
